Something positive...I have to say that I’m delighted with our progress this season.

We seem more positive, on and off pitch, and considering how quickly that has happened after two horrendous years, and plenty of awful years before that, it’s pretty remarkable.

Yes, you can unpick the inner workings of the club - there’s lot to improve but I’m willing to let the billionaire learn from and resolve those - but this genuinely feels better and were it not for a few dropped points - against teams that are better than I gave them credit for - we’d be sitting very nicely just now.

Long may it continue Everton.

All the stats say we are moving in the right direction. Let's hope it continues.

Agree with the sentiment. We have improved fitness, we have a basic plan of how to play and we seem to be wanting to win, rather than not wanting to lose.

A good start but plenty to work on and looking as though we can at least be on the fringes of the better teams, moving towards properly competitive,

It is much better than the tripe served up last year and we look to have a balanced team at last. We are still not quite on pace with challenging the top teams yet but if this team gels and cuts down on the defensive panic then confidence will grow and we will hopefully have a good end to the season.

The flip side to this is avoiding any hammerings from the top six over the next few weeks. Things have seemed reasonable at various points in the last few years but once we got soundly beaten the confidence in the team drains out and suddenly we look pants. Fingers crossed we are not that weak now.

Little early for this, with respect. Simply because in my opinion we could oh so quickly get back to negativity with a few losses.
Now, should we see positive signs in the NEXT run of games (and i don't automatically think points are the only barometer of such signs) then i'll really start to buy into Martinez mrk II.

Brands asked for patience.

We are on the right track but I believe he is here not to break the top 6, but to ultimately challenge Manchester City for the title.

The progress on the pitch is very encouraging. We have strong youth teams and some exciting young players on loan.

Still some dead wood to shift and the huge mental hurdle of Derby wins and Away wins v our peers.

They will come eventually.

This journey is just begining.

The 4pts dropped early on, we'd be on 19 pts, in 6th and 4pts behind 1st. Small margins in this league, but all in all not bad and feeling more positive than at this point last year when we'd already had our a***s handed to us by the "big boys". If we can continue to win at home and pick up points on the road, we'll be pushing 60+ pts this year

We were about 3 minutes away from after-loss threads...
There is a clear identity to this team and we are much improved. Players seem happier, too, which is only a good thing.
The real test is about to come. If we can keep this momentum going we could be a surprise package. That's a big "if" though.

Early days,I remember the forum after we stuffed City 4-0.Old kaaskop was about to be given the keys to Goodison.

We've had a kind fixture list so far, and we still aren't creating enough from open play for me.
Balance between midfield and attack not quite there yet.
But I'm more positive we are moving in the right direction for at least 5 years.

Won't be saying that when Lukaku nets his fifth on Sunday to condemn us to a 7-1 defeat.
