No it's 19 games & we paying instalments up to 40 million......
He was a 120m player 4 years ago. Bound only for Barca or Madrid. I appreciate he has fallen off a cliff since then, but the deal does allow us to gamble on returning to form or just not playing him if he isn’t up to scratch.

How many appearances until we have to pay any actual money for him .....
I'd play him in those matches up until the deadline and unless he shows some real improvement / form .... ditch him then.

He doesn’t become permanent until 80 appearances mate so looks like he’ll be going back to Spurs.

….I think that’s incorrect. It’s a permanent deal on a 2.5 year contract, it’s just a matter of how much he’ll cost.

General suggestion is £10m after 20 appearances with further £30m if he reaches 80 appearances. Spurs get 25% of any transfer fee.

I suspect he’ll be fully utilised this season at a cost of just £10m, then the club will assess his situation next summer to determine if he’s worth keeping. If he is, I imagine we’ll offer him a new contract & pay Spurs £30m. If not he’ll be made available for transfer.

Has to be now that we see something of the player he was and could be again.

He has had the settling-in period and had pre-season.

Could do with a few more players around him of course but it's really in the next few months that we'll see what sort of impact, if any, he will have here.

I'm skeptical and just think he's going to bobble along unfortunately.

It's no worries anyway, once the loan expires we just won't send him back, just like a video from Blockbuster in it
