Two for me.

One cos it was just ace, and the other cos a few years later I could say "I saw his first game"

Big Joe. Debut for Bristol City. Scored all 4 against Middlesborough. Was just brilliant.

The second was weird. Went to see Arsenal, (with a gooner mate) at Highbury against Leicester. This left winger came on, ran like a greyhound, and belted this shot that was just over the bar.

"Who is this lad?" I said to my mate.

"Some French lad I think, Henri or something"

Dont be shy.

@Eggs must have seen a few belters.

....like other older folk on here I have witnessed plenty of Everton debuts but the best player I have seen in Blue is Alan Ball who made his debut at Fulham. I have to say I have always liked picking out young players and I was fortunate enough to spend plenty of time watching games at Bellefield. The individual who most blew my mind was a 15 year old playing for the U18s. It took 5 minutes to see he was special and he didn't even do anything. Immediately after the game I e-mailed my pal in Australia and said Wayne Rooney will be very special. Not rocket science but I've loved watching him play football from that moment.

Joe Allen. Whilst playing cricket with him i always knew he was coming through the swansea youth but never knew just how good he was until i saw the surname on the bench one game. Didn't realise it was him at first, anyway when i went to watch the game vs blackpool, ended 3-6, he came on ... and the RS ruined him.

bit surreal watching someone you've known all your life becoming famous so to speak.
