Keep Beto as a back up & for for the 1st 5months at the start of each calendar year  . Get rid of Barry for anything full stop. and buy a new forward or 2

On pure statistics.
DLC in his last 58 PL games for Everton scored 11 goals.
Beto's last 62 games have produced 15 goals.
Neither is particularly prolific and would work out around 10 goals a season.
But for wages and value for money. Beto is the more prolific striker.

….whilst it’s an important factor, being a striker is not only about goals.

The judgement is, would we have more points with DCL fit and available this season? I personally think we definitely would.

I never said it was.
DLC is clearly the better striker if you look at technique. But sometimes that's not all. When I coached players , many years ago I had a winger, who was technically very good , but lacked a simple ingredient, call it heart and determination.
So, often he was replaced by a less technical player who would put his heart on the line for a win.
Any way Beto is possibly better 1 v 1.

….we all know Beto’s strengths, his attitude and combativeness is a huge factor in why we like him so much. He’s also much more effective when the ball is played in behind defenders, which was clear from the moment he made his debut in that cup game some years ago.

I’d actually think he’s always likely to score more goals than DCL, without either ever being prolific but I personally think DCL would offer much more and be a much better fit in this team than Beto.

Saying that, if we find a truly effective striker the team could significantly improve beyond DCL, Beto or Barry.

DCL apart from scoring gave a complete no 9 performance last night v United his all round play was excellent even heading the ball off his own goal line - linking Leeds midfield up with his back to goal play - he has moved on - Beto is improving though .....
