Off topic, but I remember the old Everton website when he was playing, they used to get players on for a live question chat.

Could have asked anything for the limited time, but these two some how made it through:

1:

Q: What's your favourite flavour crisps David?

A: I don't like crisps

2:

Q: You don't like crisps?

A: They're too messy.
Im out

….not sure that’d be the case here but even if it was, I’d trust Moyes to get it right ahead of a team of specialist consultants.
based on what exactly?

EDIT: Please for the love of god don't base your answer on what he did here years ago

Anybody thinking that David Moyes is going to manage the team and also be responsible for transfers is fooling themselves.

Every manager will have an input into the signing of players but that responsibility will rest with the DOF.
Apart from anything else Moyes is no longer the young kid on the block he is now the oldest manager in the Prem with an assistant in Alan Irvine who is older.

I doubt they are still driving all over the country trying to spot young talent as he once did.

Exactly mate, if we hire that guy from Leeds he likes a proper structure, so he runs the club, DoF does the recruitment, manager looks after the team. That could be interesting as Moyes might not like that but then he is an older guy (like you say) and possibly wants the easier parts of the job so he can just get on with it.

Regardless of whether we do or don’t bring over individuals from Brighton, we should absolutely be taking notes on how that club is run and looking to find ways to tailor it to how we’re going to run our own club

I know a lot of posters on here think the model is overrated and only assures mid-table mediocrity, but it could do wonders for us over the next 3-5 years if executed correctly, which would then give us a chance to really kick on

This is going to be a marathon not a sprint, and we may have to forego short term satisfaction for long term success
