Not seen the real klaassen yet. Some players need more time to settle in a different country and club than others. See pires, jimmy floyd hasselbaink etc

Remember bergkamp struggling when he arrived in the prem... the papers were even printing images of goals and instructions how to score taking the piss out of him... not saying klassen is bergkamp (although I have never seen them together) but if bergkamp needed time to adapt and get up to speed it shows that even the best players need time .

Firminio, lamela, sane some recent examples. The guy has not had a decent chance yet. This is like niasse the sequel

It's not though. Niasse got barely any game time when Martinez bought him and had Lukaku in front of him. Koeman then made it his agenda to get rid of the feller.

Klassen is apparently high Dutch pedigree. Captain of Ajax. Europa League finalist. He's played games. He's started games. Koeman wanted him to be an integral part of the side until realising he bought a dud.

And "don't write him off" shouts with "needs time to adapt". Sorry, like any player you need to make an impression when given the chance. Davies did it. Baningime did it. Rooney's dropped in. There's Schneiderlin, McCarthy, even Besic....he's behind all them.

Send him to the under 23s to play games.

..I don’t know about Klaassen’s future, I wouldn’t pretend to have any idea what will transpire but I will throw another name into the mix - Fellaini. He was absolutely useless when he arrived. I remember thinking to myself that we’d struggle recouping anything like the £15m we paid.

I agree that Klaassen struggles but he produces the odd bit of real quality. Last night the fabulous pass to Lookman where he then cut inside and missed a glorious chance. Even more encouraging was the ground he then made up to be standing next to Lookman when he took the shot on.

I thought he was good last night. Not a headline grabber but he done his job well i thought.

Clear that his role is an '8' going box to box and should never be played directly behind the striker or out on the wing.

Did well last night! Broke into little pockets, got himself on the ball a lot, always looking for it. If he his a player shot of confidence then he can take some from last night. He isn't the number 10 we want, he is in the holding midfielder. He's the number 8, the box to box midfielder who will create.

Really hope this lad becomes top quality, most thinks he is a waste of time. The lad has something its obvious to see, classy player.

Time isn't the issue with him, pace is. He has none. He'll always struggle in the PL because of it. He's no doubt technically good enough to play in one of the less intense European leagues and there, I believe, he'll end up shortly...at a massive loss to us.

There's definitely still room for him, but first and foremost he needs games.

We'll need him over Christmas, and then if we get through that tough spell without too many injuries, and start bringing in new faces, then if he does look like he'll go I'd much prefer it on loan to a good Championship side.

Get him playing regularly and coming back next season.

There's never been a question over his attitude. You can tell he wants to do well, but for a variety of reasons - not all down to him - it hasn't clicked yet. Same goes for Sandro.

It's physicality, really, Dave, more than just pace.

He's not a quick, but he isn't slow as such. He makes good runs off the ball.

Issue is he gets barged about too easily at times, and then when we were playing three no.10s, there was just no room for him.

And therein lies the true basis of your dislike for him Dave , not the player himself but the person who signed him
No, not at all. He signed Pickford who I think is a good GK and Keane who I think is a good CB.

The lad is just not good enough. We've all seen that to be the case. A decent outing against a Cypriot team who were about as arsed as we were in a dead game proves nothing.

Allardcye obviously agrees with Unsworth because he punted him outside the first team reckoning by sending him over there for the tie.

It's a matter now of coming to some agreement with Ajax again to write of the club's future payment to them and send him back. January hopefully. Get him off the wage bill and move on.

It's pace and (relatedly) it's his unwillingness to get on the ball and stay on the ball and allow others to get into better position to take a pass. The ball comes to him and he's releasing it straight away with no rhyme or reason.

The lad is pointless. Maybe he gets a lot of plaudits in Holland for doing that, but here it's different.

I agree with the observation that pace is deffo his biggest flaw for the position he plays in. Too often he appears to be in the right position to break up play or to push us forward but just doesnt get there. It's over the first couple of yards which defines a midfielder, they dont have to be Olympic sprinters.
He would make a decent 5 a side player.
