You're half right, but he only played there after Unsworth changed the formation when it was clear it wasn't working (he pushed Mirallas closer to Sandro and tried to stop us being overrun in central midfield). He started the game on the left, with Rooney in the middle and Mirallas on the right, with a midfield two of Davies and Baningime.

Could understand him needing time to settle in the prem, but you would have thought that in these Europa games he would show what he brings, problem is though, the only thing he brought was more gashness.

Do people not understand the difference bewteen a winger and an inside forward? Quite often Klaassen played or at least started on the left for Ajax.

klaassen has obvious talent. I don't want us to take a loss on him because we built such an imbalanced team. genuinely think with patience and a couple of important additions up front who can make space for him centrally or give him time to run in behind (and rooney's retirement) he'll be far more productive.

I just think back to how many of us wanted Mata in the summer and I wonder how he would work in a team like this also lacking pace and strength but full of great touches and intelligence.

Unsworth done everything he could to humiliate the lad tonight

Simples. Might not be performing but the manager should have banged this lad in his ajax positon last night. Instead he puts him out wide. Wtf is it with everton managers and playing center mids out wide.
