I agree we need those two back, but how does that affect Klassen? Do you mean he needs runners once on the ball to be effective? If so I sort of get that, but I don't see him having any ability to actually _get_the ball first! Him, Rooney and Gylfi together is w-o-e-f-u-l... Nothing more than Koeman's Cleverly for me. Reasonably OK at linking up with other players on a non-dangerous way. Can hardly remember him in the Europa final vs United either.

Sorry Davy, I hope you prove me wrong. Make some tackles.

tbh from what I've seen I don't see Klassen as a number 10, though I'm unsure if he would cope in a midfield of 2. I'd rather have Rooney high up the pitch but have someone right up alongside him and Gylfi, well I'm not sure if Ronald is doing him any favours currently having him stuck out the left a lot where he just isn't get involved enough. We need a lot more from him and I'm a big fan of his. It's a big step up from Swansea to Everton so hopefully he will settle down

I guess we just have a lot of players still trying to bed in and that causes a lot if the disjointed performances becsuse it only takes 3 players to not be on it and it affects everything

Good points. It also doesn't help players bedding in when you have them all stumbling over each other in the same area of the pitch as they all want to be there.

If we knew we where eventually going to get Sigurdsson, then for me anyway both Rooney and Klassen became luxuries we didn't need ultimately, Davies plays the Klassen role and imo will be a better player than him over his career, sandro and Rooney both have similarities in dropping deep looking for the ball.

Take Rooney and Klassen out of the squad and replace them with a top quality cb and a solid striker with either genuine pace or hold up play and we'd have looked a lot more settled and solid.

We badly missed out on bringing a replacement /competition in for Baines as well, Tierney we should have thrown a good bid at Celtic for, him and Kenny/Coleman playing wide and it'd have transformed our attack.

I've been happy with Wayne's contribution Ste but I do know what you mean. Not getting cover for Baines was absolutely criminal as well
