Why does a players team dictate his ability? Coleman hardly came from Real Madrid. Anderlecht aren't exactly top class. Everton haven't won anything in 22 years.

plenty of very good players come from pretty crap leagues.

If he's operating in a pony league how can we gauge how good he is? That's the point.

Maybe his 14 International caps, his 11 Champions League appearances (that's not including his 6 Champions League qualification games) or his 26 Europa League appearances?

That's over 50 games at the a pretty high level regardless of his domestic league.

I'm not saying he's a great signing cos I personally don't know enough about him, but you can't just rubbish his league and says he's not good enough based on that. He's clearly got something.

Someone then said they have a better than average national team, i just pointed out the recent qualifying campaign for the 2016 Euro's.

I've not mentioned a specific player by name. Dutch football is going through a poor spell currently compared to previous era's.
