If you have a poor MF to begin with then he's a good signing. If it was already good then I dont see it as being money fantastically well spent. He is a good player but hardly a genius or outstanding. If he was he'd still be at United or another elite club would have been in for him.

I also have doubts over his fitness.

I know this isn't an everton thing to mention, but imagine being able to take him off in the last 15 before he does and then bring another player on who can go on to help us in the game rather than having only one player to play that position?

On Klaassen: I've seen him a few times and he strikes me as a 'box to box player' that could only be thought of so in a league that is pretty 'kin rank.

Just like Barry Ferguson looked like the cats whiskers powering past the Dunfermline's and Kilmarnock's of this world, Klaassen, I suspect, looks like class only against the Vitesse and Go Ahead Eagles of this world.
