David Unsworth's 'spell' at Villa

Haven't thought about that Unsworth Villa story for a while, hilarious stuff that was.
Then sat at Villa Park in the home end, and they're all singing "Have you done the washing up?" at him.

Then he scored an absolute beauty, walloped it on the volley from the corner of the box into the far top corner of the net. They shut up after that.

EDIT: Found the match - didn't remember we'd lost the game, just that goal and the silence!

Would love to see the goal again...

I'm sure he was technically an Everton player at a World Cup or something ?
You must know this Groucho.. Quizmaster..

No i had an old 1987 programming. I had a section about post war players. Jennings was on loan, as cover for Bobby Mimms, while Southall was our injured. The loan finished after the 86 Cup Final , his registration went back to his club. Arsenal i believe? I don't think he actually played for us in a first team match.

I don't get how he was ever allowed near the first team. Surely they must have had him playing in training and not just threw him into a match straight off the plane?
Apparently agent or someone pretending to be one rang kopite Souness and convinced him that he was the real deal. The fume on Souness afterwards was priceless lol when he realised he'd been had I recall..
Luv your Avatar of Sir Bob by the way lad

Joe Parkinson mentioned in this week's Everton Show that when we signed him from Bournemouth he'd only just moved there himself. Anyone know how long he was actually there for?

This'll happen with Romelu 'Big Ron' Lukaku - he'll sign a new contract with us on the Thursday, and be holding up his Chelsea shirt in front of the gathered press on the Friday.

Just looked for shortest managerial reigns and Leroy Rosenior was in the job at Torquay for 10 minutes before being given the boot. Club got taken over according to what I just read. lol
