David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

Although this isn't unsworth fault he didn't do any favours today neither.

Picking the old guard and the under 23s in a strange mix was what cost us this week. Where was vlasic? Why isn't niasse starting? Siggurdson (created the most chances this season so far) on the bench, replacing both wingers at the same time for some reason etc.

I'll call it for what it is, that was poor management from unsworth at this level. You don't take a team in crisis and dramatically change it half way through a game and expect a positive reaction.
I think Vlasic is carrying a knock...
Agree over Niassie simply as he is one who knows where the back of the net is, Sigurdson doesn't deserve a starting place as he has been woeful since joining us.
As for Unsworth today a bit lost on what else he could do, and for me he was brave and decisive. We have to look at reality here he has had 6 days at the helm with 2 games crammed in( both tough ones as well), he will have had little time on the training ground so he has to put out what he thinks is a good starting 11 then change early if not working... Very difficult for him to gauge his best 11.
Any manager coming into the shambles RK left would have the same problems, it will take time for things to settle.
I think for me I would get the defence to sit deeper so little or no ground behind us, we look so exposed when balls knocked through. We need to be difficult to beat as a starter, then build from there.
As mentioned no quick fix her don't matter who is in charge....

Unsworth is in for Lyon and Watford but that’s it.

Once that international break comes, back to the U23s and thank you.

He is great at youth level, I cannot fault him but it’s a huge step up to become first team manager.

He was blind against Leicester today and I know he hasn’t had a lot of time but Leicester are one dimensional in terms of attack - use wingers and get Vardy in behind.

Unsworth played a high line with Williams and Jagelka (that alone is idiotic) plus asked Baines and Kenny to bomb forward. He bemoaned the first 45mins for being unacceptable but that was through no fault of his own.

His subs did nothing but confusing everyone. Sadly it cost him the big job and use at least a point.

I hope he learns for Lyon but I fear that will be another loss

Really disappointed in Unsworth today with how he was talking before the game seemed to know we needed to play a more balanced side. How he thought it was without a holding midfielder and not even having Vlasic in the squad is quite shocking. In my opinion Schneiderlin Davies Sigurdsson Vlasic and Mirallas with DCL would be the only way to go until we get Barkley Bolasie and Coleman back into the side.

That was Gana mate.

That was Gana mate.

People crying out all season for us to play Kenny, not to play 2 holding midfielders, to play 2 wingers, now Unsworth getting pelters for doing just that, honestly couldnt make it up.

We are a team on its arse with half a team out injured and no Striker, I doubt a peak SAF could get us winning games atm.

Within five mins of the commentary that I was listening to, the commentator said that we were gonna get bummed, playing that high line, with no legs Williams and Jagielka.

He was right.

Said this before the game Goat, Unsworth getting grief for doing something we had been slagging Koeman off for not doing.

2 players out injured MG, 4 if you want to add spaghetti legs McCarthy and Funes Mori ( still not sure if hes a togger player ) into the equation so we aint got half a team out

He's the current ( stand in ) manager of Everton Football Club and when we see disjointed performances it's part and parcel of the game that he'll get pelters and he will understand that.

I'm not just having a go at Unsworth here but this constant subs needed at half time or changing it at half time tells us all that we are absolutely screwed and there's so much wrong with us as things stand

The majority of people have been saying it all season mate.

We are broken, totally beyond repair, the only thing that can fix this mess is a transfer window, not even 1 transfer window, prolly about 5-6.

Should we put up the relegation bunting, friendo?
