Why is he tosh? Cos he went to Pompey, never played as he was behind Crouch and Defoe, and when he did he got 3 goals (1 against the [Poor language removed]) and was played on the wing? Goes to Burnley and as only played 3 full games, scored 4?

£2mill for him would be a good price. But every penny counts with us so the money would go towards someone else.

He's not great...but he's not [Poor language removed] either and will be around a long time IMO. By the time he's 28 he'll bloom to be a consistant striker IMO.

No, no and no. The fact that we didn't buy him during the summer 2007 was one of the best pieces of business Moyes did... I know he should thanks Harry for that actually. He will never be a striker on level we need and I'm much more willing to give Victor more chances, he at least has a physical tools required to play on high level. Nugent has nothing and for years he will stick on low level Premiership/high level Championship teams. We need better, much better.

I agree about Victor but the Nugent thing is all about price. Nugent would've been in a blue shirt if 'Arry hadnt have added an extra £2mill ontop of our £4mill and Preston sold to the highest bidder. If he went for £2mill, I could think of worst strikers to buy for that price.

Even if it would be 500k or less, it's still waste of money. For this money Nugent of course would be a good value... but it still would be a good value which would sit on the bench/in the stands, with a few other forwards being ahead of him.

If I would have to pick somebody from Portsmouth, it would be a Hreidarsson on a short term contract, he would give us additional body at CB, also could cover LB as Baines replacement.

I said I could see him like that. I certainly dont see him as a thin, weak scotsmans who has a few step overs in him.

He's about McFadden's size and barely won a header all game against Lucas Neill and Johnny Heitinga, two centre backs on the short side. He's nothing like Kevin Davies, in terms of style, size or physique.

He plays off the main striker, similar to how McFadden plays when he plays upfront.

I'd take him over Jo at the moment. A blue who wants to play and impress. Doesn't have the same "issues" as Joey Barton and still has potential. I'd take him as a squad player, but not excited about a prospect of him alone atop a 4-5-1 at the moment.
