David Moyes

When did he get Everton? When he was lowering expectations or when he was patting us on the head talking about plucky little Everton punching above their weight?

He is not welcome here...in any capacity.
He got us better then a large number of our fans do. He knew what the powers that be expected from Everton and delivered it. He was pretty well loved here back in the day after trotting out the "people's club" line.

I don't want him back here either but to say he's not welcome is laughable as neither you or I would have any say in the matter. Not all of us have this totally irrational hatred of the guy. Some of us just see him as a guy who did a good job here at building us back up after a decade worth of rubbish but overstayed his welcome by about four years and wish he'd left at the end of 08-09.

No,.no,no. He lied about the date he accepted the Man utd job when he was still our manager and was totally disrespectful when he was trying to sign Baines and Fellaini. Oh and he was a failure at Sunderland, would any other club with aspirations to be top 6 employ him ?

If, and it surely has to be a massive IF, the club were to consider re-appointing David Moyes, it would be the biggest signal ever of a total and complete lack of any ambition.

Please delete my GOT account if we appoint Moyes.

I'll also burn all my Everton shirt and totally remove myself from following Football once and for all

Everton are a unique beast. We actually believe we're not a small club, which itself makes us a big club. When Everton win and are top it doesn't feel like the world is topsy-turvy (as it did when, say, Huddersfield beat United on Saturday) but that everything's right in the world. Yet when Everton are playing well, it feels like something truly special.

Some of those clearest feelings came under Moyes. Some of the later ones I remember are when Fellaini bossed United - of course there was Jelavic's run, which was absolutely magical at the time.

I think Moyes of 2013 would do wonders with this squad. Unfortunately his confidence has been shot, and he's not the same manager anymore. He might be too self-conscious to "get" Everton nowadays.

@Woolly Blue what have you heard?

My main source has the following information :-

  • Kenwright fell out with Moyes a little while ago and so he's very unlikely to turn to the miserable ginge
  • Moyes brother ( and agent, or ex-agent, I'm not sure which ) is now not just thought to be dodgy, but is known to be dodgy, and so, although it would be unfair to tar David with the same brush, he's now deemed to be soiled goods by association

My personal opinions are :-

  • If we were willing to deal with someone with a dodgy family I'd rather deal with the Allardyces rather than the Moyes'
  • Davey is a busted flush in football
  • Your association ( I googled your email address once ) with the Moyes family means you're just trying to get some momentum behind the "Bring Moyes Home" campaign for your own nefarious* means

*I don't actually know what nefarious means, so I hope I'm using it in the right context

Sorry, but he burned any bridge he had in my opinion. Not welcome.

Big name manager (no matter they are employed or free agent) will not come to our club, they come to save us from relegation? Only free agent manager will come, we have limited choice indeed, Moyes is safer option, the main objective now is to prevent our relegation, our team excellent players will dismiss if we relegate, we need experienced manager but not risky or uncertainty options. Be realistic, no one can sure that we will not relegate this season.

moshiri has too much ambition to get this clown in imo. His failures were the same as what we're seeing in koeman, especially with knife to a gun fight mentality. I know he's only been there a couple of months, but silva at watford is the real deal. Would love to see us throw our weight around and try it.
