2025/26 David Moyes

You knew what was going to happen there, Moomin. Any manager you suggested was going to be unobtainable or vastly inferior to Moyes. It's what they do. Only Moyes would touch the diseased carcass that is Everton FC as far as the zealots are concerned. It's a weird flex as it simultaneously suggests that Moyes is the best manager in the galaxy but also is the only person that will take such an unattractive role and so is the least worst option. It's a tiresome paradox.
Nowhere have I ever stated that Moyes is the best mid table Premier League manager let alone the galaxy 😉 My contention is the given the coming SCR rules our spending on players this coming window, never mind hiring a new manager isn't going to improve the present squad enough to make an appreciable difference next season.Do I need to list yet again the positions that need to be improved? Taking fellow forum members seriously when they suggest managers who are already committed to other clubs for next season, managers who managed close to record low wins in the Prem or even managers who don't exist... please!

No, No, No

I couldn't be more against that, No incoming manager would have a hope in hell, or even want to touch us.
Once a Manager, always a manager..
Yeah, I want him to see out his contract I think but there's no world I want Moyes in an upstairs role and, to be honest, I find it mad that that's ever even considered. You could easily count on the fingers of one hand the number of managers who've moved to a DoF role or whatever and been successful.

Presumably people should just agree they'd all be better for Everton than Moyes?

Moyes will 100% be here next season with Mykolenko and Keane starting the 1st game of the season alongside his latest signings Ben White and Liam Delap up front.

So fans saying we should go after this guy etc needs to stop wasting their time looking and dreaming, this is us making the numbers up as always

well it’s not rocket science as myko has signed a new deal

as the rest YOU don’t know

Well for starters Rohl’s fee doesn’t go into last summers total.

Secondly, as I’ve previously said, if you’re adding Grealish’s wages in, add in the wages of all the other signings please. Otherwise stop.

Why are you talking crap?

Grealish was a FEE to City. Yes, a FEE that Moyes spent.

Rohl was an OBLIGATION. Yes, an OBLIGATION that Moyes committed too.

BOTH of these were deals done in the summer. No matter when the numbers come off the deals were done at £32-35mil.

BOTH of these were done by Moyes.

"We spent less than Burnley" you wrote.

Stop it.

He couldn't keep his fingers out the pie, his power would just grow in stature and no incoming manager would be allowed his own Identity.
What ever you think of Moyes, it would be catastrophic.

Staggered people are still absolving the moyesiah of any control or blame with our transfer policy and the deals we have done, absolutely staggered.

Indeed, see Kopite behaviour below.

Where does £100mil or £105mil come from?

King undisclosed
Travers £4mil
Aznou £7.6mil
Alcaraz £12.5mil
Grealish £12/£15mil
Rohl £20mil
KDH £25-28mil
Barry £27.5-£32.5mil
Dibling £35mil-£40mil

Certainly more like £140/150mil than £100mil.

Well for starters Rohl’s fee doesn’t go into last summers total.

This.
If he became what is essentially (a) DoF and sorting through /selecting new players...even if he is part of the 'committee'
He'd be predisposed to pick the sort of players we're being linked with now - expensive over 30s with no sell on value and probably diminishing fitness

Whatever way its spun, it was a club record amount before a club record wage on Grealish and a chunk of money on Rohl was considered.

Yeah, competitively its not a lot, heck Bournemouth have spent more over the years but its a hell of a lot comparatively to Everton over the previous 4/5 years when we had to sell to make a profit every window before trying to buy the dregs of what's left on klarna.

It wasn't long ago Bournemouth had 2 players against us that cost more than our match day squad. Thats not the case anymore.
