2025/26 David Moyes

Leaving him where he was would have been sensible, but again we don't know who makes those decisions. Poor kid look like a rabbit in the headlights. He's not a Moyes type player to start with which makes me doubt that Moyes had that much day in signing him.

Maybe Google over here in Spain operates differently but whenever I search for video of him saying he has the final say the search results don't show anything. Do I believe reported quotes from the media? He well may have had some input in the signing of Dibling but it's not his fault that Dibling has been mostly anonymous while on the pitch.
Have a look on Google Espana what “when you’re in a hole, stop digging” means.

I'm not a fan as I'm aware of his limitations that are very frustrating. But I'm a realist, and TFG aren't going to provide the money that would be needed to update this squad in one window or to be able to attract the standard of manager who'd have basically what would be this group challenging for trophies. Everyone who wants Moyes gone then suggests alternatives that aren't realistically coming here. Another season of stability is hardly the worst thing in the world.
Sorry, but that’s just hogwash. Look at the teams who’ve won trophies since we last won something without spending massively and with what you likely think are average managers……even this season Palace, Forest and Villa are all one game away from a European final.

Villa have spent very big on the recent past on wages and transfer fees and I think Forest have as well to be fair since they came up.

Wish I had the money some of you lot have. Some of you spend thousands a year and don't care if your team wins or loses, you just want 'stability'.

Grim.
No, you misunderstand.

Stability itself is not the desired outcome. Trophies and success are the desired outcome.

But are we likely to do all that after the last five years of abject crap?

No.

So we need this period of stability to use a springboard for future success. I fail to see why some people cannot fathom this.

The problem is that in football there is a very fine line between stability and standing still. And if you are standing still then other teams will push away from you and your better players won't be interested in hanging around for a long term slow rebuild.

I think overall the club needs to show a lot more urgency to get better. We've waited long enough for them to start being competitive.

You make progress year after year. We had stability last season. Stopped the rot and finished comfortably above the relegation zone. Why do we need a prolonged period of it?

As for trophies, if Crystal Palace can win the FA Cup then so can Everton.
