That is one of the grimmest lineups I’ve seen, Christ.
I'm generally a Moyes supporter, but that XI is Walter Smith-esque and if this is a bad result, he will deserve every little bit of criticism heading his way.Genuinely honking. Armstrong on the right? Branthwaite at left back? Are we for real here?
I can’t defend that. As I said I think this will be a violent fork in the road moment for a lot of people.
Playing the four CBs in a four is a new low. Shunting Branthwaite to LB to accommodate Keane is outrageous. At least O'Brien has played RB before and done ok, and Patterson and Coleman are respectively bad and really old. I could have handled that, but not this.A centre back at wing back while two right backs sit on the bench would be a new low.
That is pure Walter Smithball if I’ve ever seen it. I don’t know why he is regressing further and further into an anti football shell as he gets older, it’s like he thinks that’s the natural rite of passage for an aging British manager, to just become Sam Allardyce.
We don't need a right back Patterson has been doing great.. doesn't help himself does he
His quote about Aznou and opportunities yet he plays four centre backs? Why did we buy this lad in the first place ?
