That summer spend was wasted massively though.
What improvement did it produce?
Give me Grealish over Harrison, and Dewsbury-Hall over Doucoure all day. And twice of a weekend.
We spent it. Something we hadn't done the previous 4 or 5 seasons.

Right, you can have those two.Give me Grealish over Harrison, and Dewsbury-Hall over Doucoure all day. And twice of a weekend.
See what you're saying mate but objectively - points dictate league rankings and we're currently ranked 13th.
That's no better than the past few seasons and so maybe the improvement isn't considerable- especially factoring in the summer spend.
100%. As I posted in the match thread, oldest addage in football - don't change a winning team. He completely destroyed the momentum in the cup vs Wolves early in the season, he never learns anything.I cant forgive the set up.
He had 2 clean sheets and changed his back line.
JoB offered no Support to Dibbling so he got stranded
It's clear as day that McNeil is best on the left but we never try grealish at 10.
absolute mess of an initial set up.
Right, you can have those two.
And the other 5 useless bodies we've signed who've improved nothing?
Should've kept the same back 4
A big improvement? I don't think they are.Still a big improvement. We spent a club record amount before even factoring in Grealish, or even Rohls obligation to buy which isn't cheap.
The point was in comparisons to previous seasons. We spent something like £120m not including Rohl so Id expect us to climb a couple if positions. Including a more capable manager too and feel good factor of stadium.
A big improvement? I don't think they are.
Would you buy Barry, Dibling, Aznou, and Rohl again? Based off of what they've done for us so far? You wouldn't dare.
Ok we spent money, but we spent it incredibly poorly and nobody knows exactly how involved Moyes was.
It's an 8 for me.
Grealish is a massive coup.
KDH has fit in well. Charly was a must at that price.
Some great youngsters in Dibling, Aznou, and Barry for reasonable prices.
Just missing that right back which I can't wrap my head around us not getting one in but overall you can't say it's not been improvements to both the first 11 and the squad profile/age.
Exactly this. Change for changes's sake.Back 4 was rock solid v Forest. Absolutely no need to bring Keane back in with the knock on effect of O’Brien having to play right back. Awful decision making.
Oh trust me. I was unbelievably optimistic that the young players were going to be good.I was in a minority in the summer saying our recruitment wasn't the best as we didn't address what I felt we needed, pace and balance at full back.
You? Hmm.
Anyway the point is in terms of expectation, it goes up with a club record spend. We spent it, Moyes spent it and it improved on who we had last season or two.
