2025/26 David Moyes

Would that be the same Iraola languishing in 14th place? The latest flavour of the month, a bit like Thomas Frank.
Bournemouth squad is not very good...many cheapish options in that squad. But fair point...both should do better...it does feel though that both are bringing their own identity in the way their clubs play football...results will come i think , expecially for spurs..if not i wouldn't mind frank as our next manager.

He didn’t build the current squad though. Moyes wanted McTominay and Maguire and they got him JWP, Alvarez and Mavropanos.

Their current squad is a Frankenstein’s monster of a few Moyes stalwarts along with Steidten, Sullivan, Potter and Lopetegui picks.
He’s was their 5yrs you can’t Blame
Everyone else. He also paid 30mil for the lad we paid 7mil for forgotten his name was he Croatian?? Moyes probably bought him became he had prem experience. Also them 3 also cost 90 mil, you’re acting like they were cheap alternatives
mavropanos had failed at Arsenal. And he didn’t have to pay 30mil for ward prowse I’m sure he could have found better value elsewhere

We're at home. We should be up for beating anyone who turns up. If you send out a team to have a go then crowd reacts to it. He is so scared of getting a hammering, he tries to shut up shop, and we invariably get pumped anyway.

In the circumstances where were just a goal down late on, he makes like for like substitutions that won't change a damn thing. His man management is woeful.

I grew up in a time when we'd win 16 or more home games a season even when we were off the pace. Maybe my expectations differ.
Did you? When was this? 1969/70?

When people mention Frank, I always think of the season when he finished below us with an 8-point deduction when he had a better squad.

They got most of their money back on Vlasic, who was a last minute signing. He was signed as a Jesse Lingard move fell through.

Moyes wanted Maguire and McTominay and Steidten refused, saying they weren’t value for money. He instead signed Mavropanos. Moyes got JWP in as an alternative, as well as Kudus who they sold for good money.

Dyche's only full season - he earned the points in a chaotic off the pitch impacting on the pitch season to finish 12th.

Half the season was wrote off last season an we finished 13th.

After a club record spend before even factoring in Grealish/wages - we've got to be looking at top 10 this season, really.

Moyes himself said this teams target has to be Europe. We've got a decent team now, apart from balance at full back, pace and up front. It's certainly a lot better than it has been for a long time.

Small margins at the moment but given Wolves knocked us out the league cup, anything below 10th would be disappointing - especially factoring in how half the league it seems have Europe.
A "club record" Net spend that really is pennies compared to everyone else and was spread across rebuilding half a squad?

We signed 9 players for a net 97 million spend to replace 9 players that left. That was also more than was invested in the squad over the previous SEVEN windows. The cupboards were emptied.

That's not like we broke the bank on any one of them neither. I don't think it was spent wisely either but that "club record" spend is hardly the stick to beat him with.

We also stole Onana at the last minute..

Nonsense.

The direct comparison is to Everton, and our previous seasons.

Last summer we spent a club record amount.

Last summer we spent more than the previous 7 years combined. Thats without Grealish factored in, or a £17m obligation for Rohl.

With that comes expectation of some progress.

A better team, a better squad needs to do better. Otherwise, what's the point?

It currently is. Anything bottom half would be a disappointment considering 12th the season before last and 13th last.

According to Google Torino paid 12mil for Vlasic, so definitely got their money back 😂

we’re tenth and still have spent less than others - we’re also playing catch up

we nearly went bust /
777

also on others who’ve spent in windows prior

we’ve had ONE

you know we’ve struggled for goals

had 5
first teamers out

and we’re 10th

let the build carry on
