2025/26 David Moyes

I think we’re one more summer window from consistent top 10 or higher. I know we need a RB. But until we do, Garner has done fine. We don’t have a striker, a reliable finisher. To me, that’s the real missing piece even over RB. Think how many sitters have been missed this season by Beto and Barry. Convert even half of those and we’re much higher up the table. Everton and the fans desperately crave a goal scorer.

As mentioned before, we are doing alright despite what feels like almost self imposed handicaps.

It's a world away from 12 months ago. We are also a way away from being a consistently good team. Both aspects can be true.

Honestly we are going to have games like today. Dont think he should have changed the lineup but Moyes isnt known for taking risks and trying new things.

Nope, biggest thing that disappoints me is we are sitting here saying we need a striker ( we signed one ), a lb ( we signed one) a rb ( we gave a new contract to one) and options in the midfield ( we signed a broken one and spent £40mil on one)...that is my concern moving forward. Can we make impactful signings?

We needed a striker, so we bought one who is utterly useless in front of goal. We needed a left back, so we bought one whose entire career is basically about a dozen games for the team who finished bottom in Spain. We needed a right back, so we gave a new contract to a guy who played 5 games the year previous.

Impactful signings in "new era" Everton is indeed the question. (Plus easier said than done when you can't attract top draw players).

Wolves are holding their own right now against Arsenal. I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion we lose. I feel better about our chances because we’re going to be forced to approach our lineup differently. I’m realistic about our chances. But we could come away with something.
We have to be favourites after seeing Arsenal there. They were terrible.
