2025/26 David Moyes

No mate you just pretend none of that is factor anymore, stick your fingers in the ear and repeat "Top ten or Europe or he has to be sacked!!!!!"

Otherwise you have no ambition.

I think if the league stays as turbulent as it has so far there’s a good chance we could get Top 8 (with better injury records etc.) but it shouldn’t just be an immediate given because we have new owners. A lot of the squad is still relegation fodder.

The squad is a midtable squad. We are better than the bottom five teams but not much better.

Can you really point at any European team's squad and claim ours is better? No, you really can't. Even that Forest squad is better than ours.

Yes, you're obviously right.

We should piss and moan if we don't get Europe this year.

Very reasonable to expect us to go from relegation favourites to Europe in 12 months. He doesn't deserve patience.

Ambition.
It’s not reasonable and that’s why he should stop managing the team that way. Moyes can change the expectations very quickly by playing Alcaraz, Dibling and Tim more while ensuring O’Brien is at CB every week and working on building a style that allows us to try and compete even against the best sides. He’s not doing any of those. So he needs to win matches.

Playing those players doesn't make us a top 10 or European quality squad.

Your expectations are unreasonable.

He's won 3 of the last 4 hasn't he?

Im not saying that. Playing those players allows our team to grow. And at that point the expectations can be relaxed because we begin building something.

What he’s doing now isn’t that. So he has to win.
In case you haven't noticed, if Moyes wasn't winning there'd be blue murder on here and he'd be being flayed for his choices. Relaxed, my bum hole.

Those who expect Europe from this squad are mainly those who think Moyes isn’t good enough.

Ironic really as the only reason we may possibly get Europe is because we have a manager capable of extracting more from these players.

This squad is around 13/14 best in the league. Good enough to not get relegated imho, but one that off the back of a couple bad results would be looking over our shoulder.

If we get European football it’s because the manager has exceeded the squads ability.

For what it’s worth, I think we’ll finish 10/12 and I would mark that up as a good transitional season. We have been relegation battlers, like it or not over the past five years. This would represent progress.

The first two or three FA Cup games take the place of league games on the schedule, so there should be no reason to do that unless they drew an absolute minnow like Weston-super-Mare. Carabao Cup is all midweek fixtures until the final, which puts much more strain on the squad.
Weston-super-Mare playing Chelmsford City in the second round on Saturday. Weston-super-Mare are second in the National League South, whereas Chelmsford City are 15th, so hoping for an upset.
