2025/26 David Moyes

I think it's fair to give Moyes a couple of windows to plug the obvious gaps we all see before judging him.
Besides that, we have 18 points from 13 games compared to last season we had 17 from 20 games. There is noticeable improvement tbf
The problem is the transfer strategy isn't aligned. Moyes will probably want established players on big money whilst I sense the club strategy is more of the opposite

Well they'll just have to try to align on it, that's what they're paid to do. Well he will most likely, because he will be the one judged and dropped if the improvements don't continue. I personally want the younger, talented investments on lower wage and if that is the club's vision too, then they'll find someone willing to work with those players. All I'm saying is for now, there has been improvement after only one window that saw a lot of changes and that is a good thing. He deserves a few windows and seeing out his contract unless there is a total collapse

it's also true
We're not at their level, they're a CL club
though conceding in the 1st minute was negligent at best
Just because they are a CL club doesn’t mean a) he has to say we aren’t at their level b) that we can’t beat them.

It is making excuses, just say they were the better team on the night.

Sunderland are a promoted side, they don’t seem to be letting their status relative to others worry them and are in 4th.

I think what Moyes said is probably true BUT.. just 5 days after KDH was talking about a mentality change at the club, it’s very disappointing to hear those comments.
yea agreed.
But they aren't the only ones who believed in the mentality change, we did too.
Tonight there was a reality check when it comes to quality. Newcastle have more quality and have been playing together longer, with the same manager for longer and at a higher level too. Sometimes we got to take our medicine though I'm still fuming at the manner of it. Losing is one thing, in the first minute is ridiculous

A spoon to a gunfight.

Well done Davey, just lash any positivity we could have taken from Monday into the skip.

I would have forgiven him for any real blame for tonight, it looked like so many players just couldn’t be arsed, but if this is how he’s talking in front of them, is it any wonder?

Shame A leopard can never change its spots……
