He did a good job til end of last season. The team needs more pace, consistency and ability to create chances and open up space and creativity and goals of course
I’ll be very disappointed in the new owners if they think that type of thing is ok. We were at home to a team below us in the league, we absolutely cannot be saying that type of game is unwinnable or we might as well just pack in.Internally it probably is
Yes because he has told his players that they are not good enough to beat Newcastle at home despite them not being great away from home. He should be instilling confidence by bigging them up even if it is an untruthIs he wrong ?
Yeah, I can't get wound up by it. Feels like a "just say something to the media" quote. I don't imagine for a minute he's telling them it's okay to play like that.Really don’t mind the quote it’s just defending the players. Individual performances lost us it today
A spoon to a gunfight.
TFG won’tWhich is probably a very popular comment tonight but a couple of wins on the bounce would change things quickly.
Moyes is a very good manager at this level. Bad post match comments tonight definitely but I don't think we're at that point where we say we don't need him. In fact, I think we're a decent way away from it.
“They would have had to have probably an off night and we'd have probably had to have a really good night to get a result.'”Is he wrong ?
I don't know if you have but the way you're speaking posts like this one below it comes across as if you've personally been told Top 10 is a minimum target for the team.Where have I EVER said I KNOW that failure to get top 10 will see Moyes being sacked?
You're creating a straw man.
...well Brentford, Bournemouth and Forest finished there last season.
People need to stop making excuses in advance for a manager who should be securing top 10.
If he doesn't at least secure that he should be sacked in the summer.
Its a target you made up yourself. You've no clue what the minimum expected by our financial backers is.Top ten is about minimum for people backing this club financially.
I said loads of time I'd hold my nose and accept Moyes staying if he can get that low hanging fruit. If not...
I’ll be very disappointed in the new owners if they think that type of thing is ok. We were at home to a team below us in the league, we absolutely cannot be saying that type of game is unwinnable or we might as well just pack in.
They’ve got a lot more genuine champions league standard players than us I’ll tell you that“They would have had to have probably an off night and we'd have probably had to have a really good night to get a result.'”
Very, absolutely he is wrong! They aren’t peak Barcelona ffs
Yeah, it's the opposite of defending the players. It's saying "know your lane, lads, you're not in the same class as these boys." And this against a side we were ahead of in the table after 12 games...and who we beat last time we played them.Saying the players are not good enough against a great team like Newcastle is not defending the players......it is quite the opposite.. He has just said we are not on the same level as a team below us in the league
Protect their investment? We aren't getting relegated and highly doubt we'll be in any danger of it at any point during the season, so if anything, the "Moyes stability" actually helps their investment by keeping their asset perfectly comfortable in the richest league in the world. Whether or how much TFG want to go beyond that, is a whole other question. It’s absolutely inevitable Moyes will be replaced and not because of age or time. The Friedkin’s like any reputable organisation will look to protect their investment and but at any cost. Sackings are inevitable. They have given moyes summer funds. Dibling was very expensive with nothing of any note to refer to so far this season. Nothing. No striker. No full backs. No cover for Gana. His loss, even at 36 is immeasurable. Play a Newcastle team with no away win and without Gana at home we are wiped out. This is abject. Grealish has been a ridiculous acquisition. Garner and Keane are holding their own. Most others aren’t.
