2025/26 David Moyes

Other than that one iffy season he had the one thing I remember about Moyes's first stint was his ability stop the rot quickly.

At times under previous managers a malaise would set it which we'd struggle to get out of.

Am far more confident under Moyes in our ability to follow up a couple of poor results with a win.

Yeah he avoids the typical Everton death spiral better than most of our previous managers. Next few games will be a decent test, if we could get 5 points or more we’ll be ticking along nicely.

Thats fair but it's still 35mil light of the budget even you wanted for him off TFG.

35 million hole that could have sorted out our RB issue and potentially an experienced forward on loan.

Positions both me and yourself have highlighted as an issue and hopefully will be addressed in Jan.

I see sell-to-buy for January, and not much spent next summer after a big sale is made. 🤷‍♂️

Anything less than a win on Saturday would have had everyone in meltdown especially given the way results went for the teams below us.

Moyes isn't without criticism this season by a long shot but you'll always have that safety net with him of not going on string of results that set the hares running.

If he'd have used KDH as a 10 yet again then who knows how the game would have gone?

Moyes did something obvious to most of the forum from the moment we signed KDH. Even KDH said he was an 8.

Was it a stroke of genius from Moyes to do the obvious and stop the failed experiment?

We'll see against United.

We all know its a RB needed.

Unless the experienced 9 is a top player (hard to get on loan) we need a 6.

Am just maybe thinking there might be more movement than usual this Jan with it being a WC year.

We've got to try at the very least.

I think there will be many opportunities for Moyes to strengthen in January.

Also, I think we should see alot more of Rohl and Dibling by then along with consistent improvement with Barry.

The issue will be, (as with the summer) the attempts for ageing players for short term success. Palhinha, Tete (injury prone), Soucek and McGinn were all thankfully not interested to join.

He said after Fulham that we are looking for small improvements and to take small steps. We know Moyes likes to downplay targets.

He must know that we are in desperate need for a right back. We need the best right back 25 years old or younger to come in as an immediate improvement who can be at the top level for 5 years+

We won't be relegated under Moyes. Saturday's win should mean we won't be in a relegation battle, either. And that's key. Because stability really means a comfortable nondescript season where we might go on a cup run while we finish mid table. A loss on Saturday meant Fulham jumped over us and we were in danger of being sucked in. Look at the table today and there is a noticeable break - of three full points, which seems almost a chasm in this tight league - between us and Newcastle. It's like the league splits in two and we are just on the right side of the faultline. Even a draw at Old Trafford and then a win over Newcastle should keep us well out of harm's way and allow us to have our first normal season since Carlo. That'll do for now.

I noticed this as well. A couple of tasty results against United and the Geordies and we'll have momentum and a clear slice or daylight behind us.

Moyes proves again that he knows better than most of our fickle fans. All wanted Gueye and KDH dropped. Most wanted Keaneout and he’s outperformed all our defenders.
Pity the club cost us Europe by giving him the chucklebrothers front.
