2025/26 David Moyes

Actually, Glasner has always been very hands on with recruitment, even if his title is “head coach.” At Frankfurt, he helped bring in key players like Kolo Muani and Lindström to fit his system. At Palace we had the Guehi incident. At LASK & Wolfsburg , he worked closely with directors to identify undervalued players for his high-intensity, structured style. He builds systems that demand the right players, so influencing transfers would be a big attraction to him I think.
Oh well - maybe he would be open to it. But it’s hard to see him not going somewhere like Chelsea or a big continental team.

Yeah, it’s not like Moyes has ever played with a false nine like Tim Cahill, Fellaini, or even converted wide players like Arnautovic or Antonio.

But to play upfront you do need to be very strong, while Ndiaye and Alcaraz simply seem too slight for the position.

Moyes was playing false 9s before they were even a thing. He lined up loads of times with Osman behind McFadden even before the days of putting Cahill up there. He was one of the first proponents of the three in midfield in 04/05 along with Mourinho that most teams in the league just couldn’t get to grips with.

Id like to see him show a bit of that flexibility and ingenuity now, you feel like there could be a good team here it just needs bringing out. It’s showed in fits and starts away at Sunderland first half, second half at Anfield, at times v City, second half v Palace, that there’s a team capable of playing anywhere at any ground with the ball. It just needs a lot more consistency and a recognition of how to wrestle control back once plan A isn’t working.

He certainly had the opportunity to against Sunderland and he squandered it badly.

The way this post has been written, its as if Moyes has given a fabulous opportunity to a player.

Who has then performed terribly, perhaps even costing his team the game.

The man has had what, 7mins last game and 4mins the previous match? Subbed on with 11minutes remaining out of 180minutes.

That is not a chance, KDH has had 173mins by comparison, and been awful.

If were using the word "squandered", Moyes has "squandered" £150mil and so far, this season.

Ironically this is what he did last season and then proceeded to undo his good work this year. The biggest mistake TFG made was putting him in charge of a big transfer budget. He’s always been rubbish when he’s had money to spend. Overall I think the negatives outweigh the positives with him.

It's all very stale at the moment, at home against Fulham, id like him to change it up. Garner to right back, O'Brien to centre back alongside Keane, Rohl in midfield for Garner, Ndiaye, to the left, Grealish in the middle Dibbling on the right. I do not care which of the two lads he picks up front, neither of them are in any kind of form. Of course that is all too radical for Moyes.

They're the exact changes I'd make.

Tarkowski is a joke now and Garner can get up and down that right side of the pitch, and Rohl can add a lot of energy and aggression into CM. And if an attack of Ndiaye, Grealish and Dibling cant concur up a goal or two we may as well go back to Dyche.

Change is needed all over this team, but we wont get it.

Agreed
