2025/26 David Moyes

'...Were they the only two things that happened in the game?...' You ask a totally stupid question like that? Really? Did you actually watch the game? It is NOT simplistic thinking, it is understanding factors which influence the result.
At 1-0 up, Barry missed an absolute sitter. FACT! 2-0 would probably have taken the game away from them completely.
Their equalising goal WAS deflected, which took it away from Pickford, who was in position to collect the shot.

Do you really think those two incidents are down to Moyes?
PUT YER BRAIN IN GEAR AND START TALKING SENSE!
That's an absolutely insane way of analysing a football match. The general pattern of the game is down to Moyes and the performance was absolutely dire (like Leeds level bad for an hour). I always focus on performance level rather than result as it gives a far better indication of how many points we will accumulate over a season. Individual moments of luck/events decide football match but over the course of a season general performance level will determine where you finish.

Not scoring an easy chance that any decent Sunday League player would have scored DID potentially cost us the game. Can you not see that? Jeez, the mentality of some on here totally escapes me!
We were 1-0 and playing well. The missed chance should be irrelevant. The far larger issue is the absolutely shocking performance for the final 60 minutes. I think we got into Sunderland final third about once during that period. That 60 minutes decided the result.

Both issues are not mutually exclusive, who knows if that chance went in we could have gone on and dominated. Saying that if we'd not have been on the back foot for the rest of the game after the miss maybe we could have got a better result? Neither point is invalid, neither point is an absolute. I will say though that we should have pushed on after that miss, no way should we have performed like that.

One shot in the 2nd half by our left back ..... his substitutions were the worse yet .......plus are we fit enough for the two man midfield he plays ?

The deflected goal was by a out of form CH who decided he should block our keeper off & send it into the top corner with our keeper having the shot covered IMO a cracking own goal - plus he had a mare - & our club have just given him a 2 year deal for our Dads Army side....

He needs to be dropped - O'Brien into the middle with Keane
