There is evidence of the Friedkins being ruthless in regards operating Roma where they even sacked Mourinho and then a club legend after just a couple underwhelming games last season. You can say that it's still unknown that they'll apply that approach here but It doesn't make sense to be results driven at one club and not at another especially when theirs more financial benefits and clout at stake.

The two clubs have different footballing structures and operate in different environments. We don't know that the Friedkins personally drove the changes at Roma, and we've been told numerous times that their MO is to put people who know what they're doing in place to make the relevant decisions rather than getting involved themselves. I'd have thought if they felt the decisions we were making weren't meeting their ambitions they'd be more likely to get rid of the people making the decisions rather than those benefiting from them.

You have to look at the cost of investment being “ambitious” would require. At the moment most people would accept being competitive and coining in the massive income from the Premiee League.

Again, that's not what the discussion was about in context. I'm not complaining about the level of investment, I'm just pointing out that constantly saying 'TFG won't stand for this they're unbelievably ambitious and ruthless' is a bit daft when we don't really have any reason to think that way. As I said, it may turn out that they are but what we've seen so far doesn't really fit with the narrative some people push.

Still very early in their tenure here , if it's still over a season or two and Angus hasnt delivered id agree. I believe Dan Friedkin was personally responsible for sacking Mourinho it wasnt decided by an appointee , he intervened himself. Moyes is here because he was the best option for stability when we were in a tumultuous state. I think with them initially investing funds for this window they'll become more mindful on ambition, but hey until things proceed further it's all speculation one way or another

That answer will probably come in the summer. Where we were and where we are once season ending.

Has the progression fallen in line with the expectations.

If it hasn't, will they want to back Moyes in the Transfer market if questions are being asked.

You mean certain posters like an infamous orange kooky contrarian? I understand people would have that notion initially, but they just recently purchased our club and it takes time to develop an ambitious project. Also something a lot of people were not considering was that Moyes being involved in the transfer process , hinders a larger and more radical squad transformation. As you're firmly aware Moyes is a very meticulous and pragmatic individual who is caution first, he was never going to sanction a major overhaul than what was immediately required in his head. It appeared that he felt we needed additional defensive reinforcements but never seemed that focused on the fullback aspects.

So back to the Friedkins, I think the aim is a long term gradual evolution of the club and squad over an instant revolution. Which is probably the least turbulent approach.

After converting Alcaraz from loan to full signing, wasn't LB Aznou his first signing? There were efforts to swap Patterson out with a Spanish side for their RB but it didn't work out.

Take two back up keepers and the Grealish loan out from this summer (we'll not see much of them hopefully and a loan means JG aint actually ours) we signed just 6 more players. Alcaraz, Aznou, KDH, Rohl, Barry, Dibling. Keane and Gana signed extensions. Tarkowski since has as well.

Lets be under no illusions, the squad wasn't so great last season, and 19 players left over the summer. There wasn't exactly much of a side to join, the rebuild was so massive that it was emergency action all over the pitch. Can't turn an entire squad around in one window, it's never been done in professional football history.(?)

Getting players in is only so possible if the ones you want you can get and are also prepared to come. Let's see who's OOC next summer and might get a move in January.

Well he did relegate them (I think).

I really don't get everyone's issue with Moyes.

He has been brought in to stabalise us and then possibly move into a more strategic role next year.

He isn't a long term fix as our manager and no doubt a new manager will be brought in this summer.

I get we havent been great lately but we havent been awful either. The Spurs result was a bit of a freak one.

Well if your head is in the sand yes but we have been very lucky in some results and the rest not good .Time to face it we are at best average but in truth dropping like a stone . Needs a fresh modern approach not coming from this dinosaur I am afraid .He was the same last time stuck with no idea where to go next .

One Concern for me was getting KDH ahead of a RB, everyone who has watched Everton in the last 5 years could tell you that was a priority in the summer and the money we spent on KDH could easily have gotten you a top RB, not having a go at KDH but I would have much preferred a good new starting RB with a three of Grealish Ndiaye Dibling as opposed to what we've gone with so far.
Another concern has been his approach to most games, late pointless subs and insistence to not sub off his favourites, makes me feel quite worried that he really doesn't understand our players strengths tbh. I like Moyes but I am now a bit worried and questioning his ability and methods, don't think we are at risk or relegation but atm we are as close to 18th as we are to top half ...
