2025/26 David Moyes

My view hasn't changed. He's a very limited manager but he have a poor squad so I wouldn't change it at the moment. If we can get 2 attacking full backs and a half decent forward in, then he can get us up to 12th and then leave.
Yeah we’re a middle of the Road team that can’t score and have defensive lapses

Fix those two things and relegation isn’t even a topic for discussion

its going a bit like FSW reign this season.
Early promise, reality kicking in before the end of September.
Having Guinea-Bissau's version of Brett Angel and the French Stuart Barlow is not helping the cause

Keeps Mykolenko on and makes it so easy for Spurs to double team Grealish knowing they will get the ball back 2 seconds after he passes it to Myko.
Turbogash

We had months to sign those players.

He signed a full back from Bayern and has barely used him , what is the point?

He was bemoaning good players not wanting to join us, well if we keep on like this we are going to have the same problems again.

That recruitment team is shocking or whoever makes the decisions because when we get a signing right it feels like more of a fluke than good work.

It’s only garden spade head Carragher who has really called out our recruitment in the media, the cowards at The Echo don’t

Season has been abject so far from a favourable fixture list on the whole. Even today playing at home to a Spurs team with a long injury list after playing away in Europe on Wednesday and being outplayed at Monaco. Palace we were outplayed and got lucky and they'd played away in Europe on the Thursday. Outplayed by Brighton but they couldn't score. Out the cup to Wolves who have 2 points in the league. Also everyone else knows how to beat Liverpool now and we just sit off them and lose the game in the first 30 minutes.

I didn't mind Moyes coming in last season and getting this season, but he has to show something. Whether it's a cup run or get near the European places. Take away 4 points from the Brighton and Palace wins and we'd be right down the bottom. It's only Wolves where we deserved to win and were hanging on there.
You can't pillory Moyes for the disgraceful decisions by the officials in the first half today. At worst it should have been 1-1 at half time...

As said yesterday about his programme notes. He made it plain that he thought that Spurs were a cut above us:

"Today we welcome Thomas Frank and his new Tottenham team to Hill Dickinson Stadium. They have been impressive since the start of the season.

Thomas has worked incredibly hard over the years at Brentford and has earned his chance at one of the traditionally ‘big’ clubs in England. I know Thomas well and always felt he would find himself making that step up."

...Spurs...an utter turd of a club that last won the title in 1961.

Needs to stop seeing the no.10 as a primarily defensive position.

Get Dibling or Alcaraz in there and let the opposition worry about us rather than playing KDH in order to close their back line down and press.

He was kept on because the owners had no plan, were totally unprepared, and needed somebody - anybody - to steer the ship they didn't even bother turning up to see.

I have little time for Moyes, a man of the past. But the owners are the real problem. Until they come up with an actual vision, show some ambition, and demonstrate genuine competence, then pointing at a shiny new stadium and swooning over Jack Grealish's calves will be the extent of their impact.
Right now stabilisation is the extent their ambition will allow

Squad gradually improving, but the spectre of PSR still hangs over us and that’s going to be there for a while yet

It’s going to be slow, dull and (sometimes) arduous, but that’s the state the goggle eyed freak left us in

He said in Feb hed be looking to mix up the backroom staff this summer. That equated to his set piece coach leaving and not being replaced (who he only appointed as a favour to his brother)

Loads of crossing but we don’t have a Fellaini or a Cahill running on to them. If we are going to play like that, then play Rohl or Alcaraz.
It's too easy to play against though, if our sole plan is just swinging crosses in well we will struggle big time imo. Also I hate saying it as the guy is clearly a talent but Grealish really slows the team down and wants too many touches for me.

There clearly being instructed to play it out but there is nobody in the middle to receive it and the full backs aren’t technically good enough for it. We are trying to play a way our players can’t. It’s not fully on Moyes, the squad is a shambles. But he needs to be flexible and reactive
I agree, it’s not all on Davey, but he’s not using the players and squad we have got as well as he could be.

Need to try a new system or shape, and needs to try different players starting. Rohl and alacaraz need to start for me.

Tarks needs dropping, stick garner at rb and put job at cb, or go 532/343 whatever, cos this ain’t working. Dibling should be getting minutes too.

We’re defo not playing to either strikers strengths, not that they have many!
