2025/26 David Moyes

I see so many <I-do-not-know-what-to-call-them> on here!!!

The season is 7 games old, and old biases are surfacing up so much so that people are now announcing the fact that they "hate" the manager because he is what "they" think is a boring manager, not winning a trophy in 11 years as if the financial disparities don't really exist and every team has equal amount of resources / richness. Sure Leicester did that, but it was a freak season and a fantastic manager in Ranieri (playing pragmatic football, though).

Till last year everybody was praying for safety and continued presence in premier league. Now that the fear is gone, everyone wants the manager to start playing like elite-level football club immediately, forgetting what we CAN afford. It's a like a dirt-poor family, gains stable income and now thinks thy can live like billionnaires. How dare anyone suggest live-within-your-means and don't buy that porshe, when we can't afford a two-wheeler. And pragmatic manager is boring/dithering/<and whatever else fancies them>.

As a fan, we have expectations, we have wishes, we have dreams sure... As a fan, we also need to be realistic about where we are and what our current status is, in the whole business of Football as it exists today. So many managers came and went with Moshiri's millions, what did they achieve? Let us clear that rubble first.... Then we can walk through Barry and other stuff.

Seriously!!! Let the manager do what he wants... He is a manager for a reason, you or I are NOT for a reason...

Complete exaggeration of what people are saying. A total straw man argument

It's okay that many fans don't like him, in fact it's understandable. We have seen a LOT of him.

We appointed somebody we all know would ensure a split, it is what it is.

I also believe it's all unimportant anyways, as he will likely be gone in the summer

City aren't what they were but, obviously, have a superior squad to us. That being said, they aren't in great form and this is a decent opportunity to try and take something from them. Whether that is how we approach the game is not up to me, it's up to the manager, and how he set up against the RS doesn't fill me with confidence. So, yes, I'm predicting a loss. I hope I'm wrong.

They have a superior squad to about 95%of clubs in world football mate.

Are they the team they were a few years ago? Obviously not. But that's a bit like saying Pink Floyd weren't quite the same band when they released The Wall as they were when they released Dark Side of the Moon.

City are still very much a top top side, they've lost something like 2 PL home games since the tail end of 2023.

Split?

Do you remember Benitez? That was a split. Anybody genuinely divided over whether Moyes is worth starting a civil war over has questionable intentions, imo.

Who is talking about civil war? Bizarre leap

And yes split. A completely different balance than the Benítez Split (which should have been 100% against and 0% for) but still an obvious and clear split. There's a lot of fans made up to have him back, but IMO there more fans who are either tolerant of him and happy with the job he has done OR are happy with the job done last season and okay with this season, but don't generally like him and didn't want him (I'd be in the last camp)

Because civil war was what a real split looks like. For the record, I opposed the appt. of Benitez as it was obvious how much of a split it would cause. However, once he was appointed, I tried to give him a fair chance, and always felt he was let down with being given less than £2 million to spend. I've never had the feeling that Moyes would cause a genuine split. More like there'd be a a minority of vocal 'experts' who would make their voices as loud as they could.

There's the problem: "didn't want him" so obviously biased. He's done a good job. End of story. Give him the credit he deserves. Just for the record, which manager were you banging the drum for before we appointed Moyes?

There's no split amongst the fanbase, just some dissenting voices who are desperate to be proved right. It's a million miles from the toxicity and 'split/civil war' that we witnessed under Benitez.

I like Joey 66 but how can I reply to him if I can’t see what he posts?

Were they in that far worse state last season when they beat us 2-0 at Goodison?

No. They were on a run of 1 win in 10 games when we played them in December. They were fresh off dropping £200m in the January window when we played them at home.

...And they've got one of the greatest managers of all time, and a striker who's worth nearly as much as half of our stadium whilst being paid about about as much as our five best players.
