2025/26 David Moyes

Clearly deserves criticism for why we constantly start games asleep.

Also clearly deserves credit today for taking action at HT and there being a substantial improvement.

Both can be true. He is a pretty good but obviously flawed manager, nothing we didn't know.
In a nutshell.

Hard to argue with 7th in the league. Easy to argue with capitulating at Anfield and in the League Cup. If we want a solidish season, Moyes will be fine. This is why I am relaxed about him taking us into the summer. But after that - not for me. With the club "stabilised" and relegation no longer a threat, his flaws will take more weight than his attributes. Solid won't really cut it then. But for now, hard to argue with 7th.

Like it or not, but a top half finish would be great for this club and we are currently on track for that.

People can aspire to more and maybe Moyes isnt the manager for that, but for now, as above, top 10 would be a great "starting" point.

Yep. Top half has to be the aim this year. Obviously want more but it would also represent substantial progress from the last few years.

I don't think anybody ever said Moyes was the long term answer but whatever your view of him, he is overseeing us going in the right direction. Albeit with a lot of big bumps in the road.

Hopefully have Branners and Rohl back after the international break along with KDH.

The West Ham game looks like an opportunity missed now though, we’d be 5th.
