2025/26 David Moyes

I think people are putting way too much emphasis on obtaining a new center forward, the way Moyes has been playing has completely nullified the striker position, I get that Beto and Barry are limited but we're not doing anything to actually involve them especially Barry. So what would change if we get a better striker unless if he was like Lukaku who could just make opportunities on his own. Nobody even tried to pass the ball to Barry, was he supposed to make a recovery and just create something on his own? Last season moyes for a series of games actually tried to play to Beto's strengths that's not happening
Your not going to work your socks off like Ili and Jack and then put a ball through to one of them forwards to finish THAT YOU DON'T TRUST ! Same thing at Utd with Hojland. Garnacho and Diallo were cutting inside instead of keeping a wider role, and not involving Hojland because of his ability in the Prem. Players aren't stupid and can assess a players ability very quickly.

Its not a good sign that we just played what was nearly our best 11 and on balance deserved to lose against West ham at home. The team looks very unbalanced at times and very predictable. The goal was basically a set piece goal from a defender so we now have 1 goal from open play in 4.

For me the right back has to change. He is offering zilch to the team apart from slowing down attacks. He even lost headers to the likes of Paqueta which is meant to be his strength. Needs must and put Garner back to right back and the striker position needs solving and fast. I know Garner is good in the middle too but I really think having such a slow right back is becoming a real problem for our team at both ends of the pitch.

Ive been quite surprised by the comments about Everton in the media this season. Its flipped from people who quite clearly never watched Everton under Dyche to have the opinion he was doing a great job. To now comments about Evertons start this season and how great we've been. The performances have been very patchy. Awful at leeds. Brighton could have quite easly gone pear shaped. Wolves was decent enough. But they're bottom of the table. Villa. Same as last night. No cutting edge up top. Liverpool. Decided to only show up after the HT oranges.
Was listening a few hours before last nights game at some pundit saying Everton have been great and a top half finish is almost guarenteed.
Dunno bout others but im looking still at who's the worst 3 teams around as a bit of insurance. And 3 terrible teams dont stick out this season.
I get we're a bit of a graveyard for strikers but once again we look like going into a season with no regular scorer up the middle. Its amazing how we manage to stay off the bottom of the table year after year by looking like we're playing with no striker. I thought if we persisted with Beto he'd bag around 15. He looks miles off it.
I think we've got to make ndiaye KDH grealish and alcaraz work. But i dont think Moyes is having alcaraz. And if moyes doesnt fancy a player he's screwed.
Doing ok to be sitting 9th so far. The petformances are about that. With a wary eye just below as i think this season its gona be easy to get sucked down to the bottom 5 or 6.

Surely he can’t be out of ideas already?
Same team, same tactics, refusing to change anything regardless of how it’s going.

Is it too much to hope that Utd sack Amorim and ‘swoop’ for Davey again?

Agree. Wolves have 1 point from 6 games yet just outplayed Tottenham away and but for an injury time winner bag all three points.

Burnley will finish bottom but then it's up in the air. Wolves most likely to be relegated of the others as they rely to much on Andre and Strand Larsen but who's the other - Leeds? They are solid at home due to the atmosphere etc but they are a very limited team.

Absolutely spot on. There isn’t anything wrong with how we are playing in my opinion and we keep the ball in the final third better than for years…. However Beto and Barry are completely out of the game, might as well not be there.

Crying out for a false 9 given the players we actually have in our disposal. Alcaraz should be given a shot.

If we don’t get more quality centrally then it’s far too easy to double up on Grealish or Ndiaye.

100% this.
Garner is an intelligent footballer and he would do a good job at right back like Nunez at City and other centre mids are doing at right back. He's better in the middle but he will have to suck it up due to the recruitment team.

I'm amazed other teams haven't done that to O'Brien before. Kick the ball 10 yards beyond him and skin him in a foot race.

Now that the blue print is out on him (which was obvious) imagine what Doku will do against him in a couple of weeks. Thankfully Palace don't have Eze any longer and Sarr plays down the right.

Sunderland were looked at as nailed on strugglers. They've got as many points in 6 games as Southampton did all last season. Brentford i thought would collapse straight away without the wissa/mbeumo goals. Hasnt happened as yet. Im looking at Forest under Ange. That could go either way under him. United? Taken a point a game in amorims year. Thats relegation levels. Surely not.
I think this year is gona be different to other years. Lots could get dragged in.

There's no glory there though.

Glory = trophies.

I know mate …

Newcastle used to call the keagan days “ glory “ years

If you’ve never seen your team win anything then you wouldn’t hate the manger that gave you your best Everton memories would you?

That’s my point

I think we just have to get used to being inconsistent this season as we are still slowly building up a team to a position better than the relegation battles we've been in over recent years.

Still, if you'd offered me 9th place and level on points with Chelsea after 6 games, I'd have taken it

I thought Sunderland could be ok. I liked a lot of their signings and they have a pretty solid defence. Xaka is an amazing coup for them. A champions league player in centre mid.

I thought the same as you re Brentford. They will probably be around 15th as they seem to have enough about them.

I'm with you on United. If say Cunha got an injury then given the horrible balance under their current manager they could get sucked. I'm hoping Sunderland get something at Old Trafford as they then have a tough 4 games coming up. Forest maybe as well under Ange could get dragged in. We need to be mindful ourselves given the poor performances on the whole this season bar Wolves away.

The funny part of this now is that some believe even Southgate wouldn't do a better job with these players than Moyes.

Anyone can see this is falling apart before our eyes.

If TFG made a bold decision to bin him off before Christmas they'd have a huge boost to their credibility here.

This squad used intelligently in this terribly over rated league should be easy top half all season and getting a European place given the workload of 9 other clubs this season domestically and in the PL.

FFS.. Southgate ?

Mate just get drunk, like blind drunk … then change your password on here, hope you cannot remember it and never post again …
