2025/26 David Moyes

Dour Davey at his finest there.... Which makes me actually feel better because clearly he is pissed off after the Wolves game. He has some right to be offended given the rise in expectations since he came vs one cup defeat. He seemed super prickly with the female reporters. I would have been more angry if he had been all smiles and sunshine.

I do wonder sometimes if the journos all snigger to them selves that they know that need to stroke his ego to get anywhere with him.
Probably consider him the Temu Alex Ferguson.
Makes ya wonder how on earth do you stroke any ego Moyes may or may not have.

"Before I ask about the fitness of Jarrad, does being 10th in the league in September instead of bottom with zero points yet again fill you with as much pride as winning the Charity Shield?"

Everyone's disappointed.

If you were reviewing and rflecting on it - im sure the management team would own up to the mistake, they made wrong calls in the management of the game.

Certainly also think they misread the public mood - which i have to admit has surprised me.

I think the RS singing about trophies and 95 last week - really hit home and was still raw come weds at the aftermath.

I think fatigue plays a big part in some people’s views, lots of let downs and disappointments
I liked he's interview, shows that we have moved on from relegation battles and I liked Moyes arrogance from the Wolves result, I've moved on from that, lol. Good managers and players need to show arrogance.

Yeah and win things

I'm not sure arrogance will be much use to him if we lose at home to West Ham.

Moyes has done a really good job since his return - unquestionably. However, the honeymoon is over now and the job description is slowly changing. In general, the biggest matches of the season for us are the two derbies. These are the games we would wish to win more than any other. While nobody expects a win against this very good Liverpool side, we demand that we turn up and give ourselves as good a shot as we can.

Other than the derby, the cups provide our greatest chances of glory - you know, the rare thing that fans crave to make up for the decades of mediocrity most fans of any club endure. While a cup is never an expectation, it does offer hope. We demand that we give ourselves as good a shot as we can to realise that hope.

On both accounts this week, Moyes proved himself totally unsuitable for the tasks at hand.

He's here for stability and nothing else. He's a percentages manager. Not likely we can beat or even draw with Liverpool at Anfield? "I've moved on." Not likely we can win a cup? "I've moved on."

Well, he might be the one moving on if the league form goes south. Anything less than a win on Monday and the narrative will start to sour. He won't be talking about a feelgood factor, then.
Moyes is okay for us, look what happened to us after he left us in he's first spell, we went through manager after manager and relegation battle after relegation battle. At least with Moyes we know we are in safe hands. He has only really had one transfer window as well. He knows what we are short off and will address it.

At what point are we going to knock it on the head employing what we consider a safe part of hands, and get someone in who can develop the young profile of players we seem to be targeting and show some ambition?

Moyes would have spent the £100m of 10 Soucek wannabes if he could have.

I didn't want him back, but understood it. I don't understand the 3 year contract.

IMO he believes he must control the playing side at Everton in a way he never has elsewhere at other clubs - that he has a right to the controls here, and all others have no say on players.

There's no question in my mind that his view of Everton is that he's doing us a favour and that he represents a colossus in the club's history and should not be questioned. But he's a no mark in reality. A man who wont leave a trophy in the cabinet ever, and shouldn't even be spoken about in the same breath as our true legends.

Anyone who reveres this feller need to have a good look at themselves.

I'm counting the days until this divvy is punted.

Moyes isn't enough. Maybe for now, but in the future, we need someone ambitious and willing to take the risks he doesn't.

I don't think Moyes is ok for us at all. Nil Satis Nisi Ok? Nah, not for me. I understand why he is currently at the club - to stabilise things. But beyond that, Stability's David Moyes isn't driving us on to greater things.

Roll on the summer and a proper progressive vision for this club.
