2025/26 David Moyes

I'm not sure who he is trying to kid there
Oh, he's playing a blinder. Just look at some here defending the indefensible. I mean, anybody can be a Moyes fan and put their hands up and say he got it wrong tonight. But we're hearing talk of being cursed and how pointless the competition is and how we've never won it...which apparently means we can never even aspire to winning it.

He lost a lot of goodwill tonight. Worse, he lost momentum. Big game Monday now. Imagine losing at home to a fella who's apparently about to be sacked... Not worth thinking about.

I dunno about not getting Europe personally.

The results last season were good enough for a European push and we have added quality players?

All PL managers rotate their squads in this comp, I cant explain it, you should ask them, rather than my POV.

Thats not me being an arse, just saying its pointless me chatting biscuits Tim, yano?
We have a much better 11 this year. As for the squad players, I dont think they are nearly as good as some do.

Theres no logical argument for a midtable team like Everton not to try their very best to win cup competitions. And you can only maximise your chance of winning if you play your better players

Anyway, I get your points, even if I don't agree. I just think we've thrown away a big opportunity for no real reason.

He hasn't helped himself has he mate. Admitted that "tactically we weren't at it" against the rs first half, then compounds it by trying to be a smart arse when there's barely a player in our squad who should need a rest, yet rotates 7 of them.
Nope, he really hasn't but I can't say i'm the slightest bit surprised. After he bottled the semi final to Chelsea away he lost me and i've seen nothing since to change my mind.

Bit harsh to be fair. I'm pretty much in agreement with him on Moyes, now Dyche and Martinez, that's a different story
It's easy to be reactionary an hour after a poor result. yodavek was in his X-wing 10 seconds after the final whistle.
Tonight was bad, but it doesn't define the 8 months he's had.

Remember people complaining about Doucoure, Harrison, Lindstrom etc? We've gone from relegation fighters to expectation of league winners, quicker than any side in history, Moyes fault or the expectation holders?

Give the man a competent striker.

Too many changes and ones which made us much, much weaker than the side we've been putting out for league games.

McNeil, Alcaraz and Travers are all considerably worse than their 1st XI colleagues and we looked much worse for it.

Classic Everton (not just Moyes), so often we think we can rotate a bit for these games but we tend to forget that our squad depth is appalling.

Cowards in the squad means nothing if you have a coward as a manager not doing his job properly.

Can you imagine him and his staff tonight picking that side and being 100% convinced that set up was right? A 36 year old right back with 2 left backs on the bench or Garner who can play there and Gueye or KDH in the middle?

We let a woeful Wolves side dominated the ball for long periods when they were bloody awful
We'd changed almost every single area and partnership on the pitch- striker, wingers, midfield, goalkeeper and the cherry on the top a 36 year old right back in the left back position.

I'm not sure if I was actively trying to lose the game I could have come up with many more changes.
