2025/26 David Moyes

Honestly you could go through my posts and see I’ve advocated for the contract extension mid season, however this fall off has been abhorrent. It’s one thing to have Moyes when Europe is achievable, it’s a whole other proposition when we could finish as low as 13th.

Glasner, Iriola or even Silva returning would be much better moves than keeping Moyes on. Nothing short of self sabotage from him, even that period of McNeil becoming a mainstay was mental considering he was out the door in January, just shows the baffling decision making.

He’ll be here next year, and I do largely blame the players too, but they’ve all been a farce for months now at this point.

This attitude absolutely plagues our club.

Bring back a trusty old dinosaur because “what if a new manager doesn’t do well?”

Don’t play exciting young signings because “what if they don’t do well?”

As a result, said dinosaur runs our core group of players into the ground, creates a disillusioned bunch of fringe players and has fans terrified to call for a change of manager because “what if a new manager can’t deal with these players?”

At some point we have to take a chance. I never wanted Moyes back but fair play for what he did for us last year, and for parts of this. I defy anyone to make an argument for him to stay on merit and, to reiterate, “a new manager might not be as good” is not merit.
This. Couldn’t have said it any better.

I'd just like us to move Moyes on when the players are better and it's obvious we're underpeforming. The end to this season has been garbage, but overall it's a mid table team doing mid table things.

I think it's going to get toxic very early on next season however so it might be best we make the decision now.

The first two thirds of the season showed Moyes' strengths. The last third showed his weaknesses, and unfortunately, they are weaknesses he's had since day 1 and will never lose.

With the quality in the squad Moyes decisions have cost us a massive of points this season.

We would have finished in Europe if Moyes had been sacked after that [Poor language removed] run of form in January.
