I really liked his previous sub appearance but he looked really poor in that game which I reckon might make Moyes give someone else a chance

I think it’s down to who’s impressed him in training to be honest because neither Barry or George staked a claim and neither Rohl or Alcaraz have had an opportunity

He was bad against Liverpool, but he’s also had good moments and hasn’t had much time. Plus he’s actually played some up front before and can swap to the wing if need be. Illy can slot in up front then. Just seems more flexible than someone like Rohl.

Do you honestly, really genuinely believe that Sunderland went out and signed Everton reserves behind Moyes back.

That club went behind David Moyes back and signed his former players.

Just like you repeat that West Ham went behind his back and signed players. Despite it being widely known that he had the final say in transfers and that he dithered signing the final contract as it removed his power over new signings.

Because he massively failed overall on incoming transfers signing players whose resale values then plummeted.

As were also seeing now with: Rohl, Aznou, Barry, Dibling, Travers etc


You're now changing your initial post (which is fine) to say you want:

Senior players
Very good experienced players
Experienced players
A few younger players

But you say the very good players would be sold to sign more experienced players.

So we'd never have a team of very good players unless there was massive success in the youth signings. Which there wouldnt be with this manager.

Thats just huge risk in a pot and a never ending cycle of high wages and decreasing squad value.

The idea is you don’t sell anyone if you don’t have to. But when a massive club comes in with a massive fee you don’t really have much choice.

And Moyes had a veto at West Ham. Quite different to having final say. If you are told you can sign one player and not given the choice of another then you end up cutting your nose off to spite your face by turning it down.

Dave, one of his stated reasons for leaving wasn't completely out or order...I think those of us who lived it can agree that his tenure had started to become stale but I don't think so much due to him as it was Kenwright's failings. It's far from the end of world that he's back...I just want to see how he gets on now, with more financial stability; I hope well, for all our sakes.
