2025/26 David Moyes

Pre-match team talk:

“Right lads, rope-a-dope again. Just sit back, give them a wee goal and wait for them to switch off….”

This could indeed be Moyes master strategy. I do worry a good team will put us to the sword in a similar first half leaving us with no way back.

Think I would prefer something a little more novel, like playing for 90 minutes. 😊

We all want good, positive footy. Everyone does. But Moyes came in to sort the mess out, to stabilise us. He has done that. Mind boggles that you don't care about 8th!!! It is a season with no relegation threat. Credit him for that FFS.
He has spent 100 million plus if our home form improves we can make Europe - 2nd half very good first half very lucky but our away record is very good cancelled out by a poor home record when we have to take the initiative in going forwards from the off !

if he gets Europe then all credit to him. He doesn’t help himself or the club with his ways at times though. Some of his decisions and the things he says I don’t like at all and serves as a horrible reminder as to the mentality that was here in his previous years here.

Having said that, Europe would be clear progress on the season before. He stabilised things when he came in last season and now it should be progress year on year, like other clubs have.

Someone do us one of him smashing a glass ceiling.

Moyes has taken us from a relegation candidate every year to a current European place spot, having had by far our most valuable defender out for more than half the season, our best attacking player missing 6 games for the african nations, one of our other best attacking players Dewsbury hall missing the same 6 games, they return and our other good attacking player breaks his foot. Not once this season have we been able to field our best team.

Yet we are currently 7th, not sure if the Moyes haters have completely forgotten how bad we was in the last few years but to go from what we have suffered through in the last few years to this right now and still wanting him gone is just mental to me.

It’s very reminiscent of when he came in first time round. He had some real tripe to work with!
