2024/25 David Moyes

Again though, he's saying it is better than Dyche, but still not actually good. It's honestly quite bizarre that some people's hatred of Dyche seems to blind to such an extent that they can't actually read what posts say and instead see them as a vigorous defence of him.
Going from 2 points away from the drop to 15 points above the drop isn’t good?

Only 5 points difference lol. Included in those 13 dyche games is a loss to Southampton. The worst premier team in history.
In those 13 games Moyes won more games away in 3 weeks than dyche did in 13 months. 7 goals in 13 games compared to 18. The whole approach and mood in those 13 games is chalk and cheese. And you're clinging on to your mate Sean like a drowning man to a lifebuoy.
"To further my point"
What? That you talk crap on Sean Dyche. Yeah you furthered that alright.
Kin idiot 😂

Thanks for confirming once again that you have no understanding whatsoever of context and how it changes over time. Keep hammering your one plastic nail with your toy hammer.

For the love of god David. Please stop being so negative and talking us down.

The difference in mentality of two managers.
Moyes. Europe is what Everton should be striving for.
Dyche. Everton fans think we should be going for Europe(he made that up) Im like with what? Im keeping them out of the bottom 3 by 1 point. Im brilliant.

Thank fk he's gone.

Of course it is, and Moyes is doing a good job. Without wanting to just go over the same ground though, the point is that we have returned to very much bottom half form over the last couple of months and that's the point he's making. We had a run of form that was genuinely good, but we've now been in a much lesser run for quite some time. 9 points from the first 4 games was fantastic, 5 points from the last 6 less so. Again, that's not Moyes's fault, it's just the level of squad we have.

When he was here the first time people lost their heads that he basically said it was going to be hard to beat City away and now we've got people praising his mentality and ambition for an interview in which he says the side that's 15 points clear of the relegation zone with 7 games left has got 'every chance of staying up' and that there's no reason we shouldn't try to get into a group with Fulham, Bournemouth, and Brentford in future. Amazing scenes.

I worry that Moyes see us differently to West Ham, yes he paid way over the top for some average players at West Ham. But he bought technically gifted players. Did he see his time their as short and thought I will spend the most I can and try and get some success straight away.

Does he look at Everton differently, like it’s his club and his money and he needs to be careful and a slow re-build and thinking he will be here for 5/6 yrs. I hope I’m wrong, but I didn’t want him back, because he is a negative manager and I don’t believe they change their spots. I also will be calling for his head asap, if he targets certain players over the summer and this time next year, we’re a defensive, tough, physical side hard to beat, but not much flair and hovering around 12th/13th

It is a bit naff that we've stopped winning like.

Not all Moyes' fault, of course, but neither was it all Dyches at times either.

We do, very obviously, need a better squad. Only the top coaches in the world would get this current lot anywhere near close to the top if you ask me.

Hate this whole new manager bounce narrative. People were waiting for him to lose to say it was just a bounce yet he literally lost his first game in charge. There was no bounce. There was just better management.

Exactly as you say, none of this new manager bounce crap. Moyes is just a far better manager than Dyche, he changed us tactically, he has us more on the front foot attacking teams and trying to win games. Unlike Dyche he has belief in this squad of players O’Brien being an example. As I say, he’s just a far superior manager to Dyche.

I can't quite get my head around why people are acting as though these things would be mutually exclusive when they obviously wouldn't and aren't. Moyes is a superior manager to Dyche, there is also a possibility that the results immediately after he came in were not reflective of what we should expect in the long term with this group of players. Whether you call it new manager bounce or just a short term upturn in form or the luck of the draw fixtures wise or whatever, the basic principle remains the same.

To further support my point. Under the worst form of what some people have said is the worst manager they’ve ever lived through, it’s only 5 points different to the current form when everyone is made up again.

18 points from 13 games is also the finish Dyche produced last season.

This is the level of this squad. Sometimes they’re capable of a bit more, sometimes a bit less.

Until we buy much better players we’ll just keep getting different flavours of bottom half football.

I think this is accurate.

12th if we keep key players fit/have a good run.

17th if we don't.

The margins between them places aren't a lot.

This time last season, we earned the exact same points as now. We just never felt safe because of the deductions.

We then had a tremendous run of results from April.

One win in nine...

Could easily become 1 win in 12, looking at our next 3 games.

Not surprised, personally.

It is a bit naff that we've stopped winning like.

I don't think any manager in world football has this squad top half of the league.
