I guess we had a good result in the press conference and they are going to the next section of emergency criticism. I think it must be titled 'Players that most fans have forgotten that Moyes left out of the squad'.

Next up on the list, Pistone was dropped for a game against Charlton.

On the flip side of this argument though, he randomly brought on Van Der Meyde to set up Goslings goal in the derby replay. Now that was a stroke of genius

If you were around in 2012 then you'll know it was a VERY common criticism made about Moyes after that SF that his own ego at being seen to be the boss denied us a genuine chance to beat them and get into a cup final.

There is no way of knowing that in the same way we did not expect Distin to set up Suarez for their equaliser…that’s when the game changed.

It does not change the fact that if Moyes had included him it would have undermined every standard and discipline that all the other players signed up to.
