Could have been much better if we didn’t have a clueless DOF at the helm. It’s left us extremely exposed to having to field a weak starting 11 if we get more injuries which is bound to happen.

He clearly isn't, but in all fairness, I don't think Kev wouldn't spend anything deliberately. We all agree this squad while still thin is better than the one we had, when Dyche took over, and we've reduced wages by 20m and made almost 100m profit on transfers since then. The mess was made by the unhealthy spending in the Welsh and Brands years.

Moyes clearly said two things, PSR is still a big obstacle, and the 2nd thing was to not bring any useless fillers into the squad.

What they are masters of is closing down the opposition one red will go to the tackle
Next red will anticipate the the pass and close that down and so on it works
95% of the time to me you have to be really fit to play that system one way round it
I suppose is quick passing and don't be afraid of talking on the player on a one to one

Also, other than Salah who is crucial to the way they play, if one of the outfield players gets injured, they`re more or less able to replace them with a player who`s just as good or not far off as good as the injured player.

They`re a mangers nightmare to play against, as you go deep against them and you just get a red wave coming at you and eventually they find a way through and if you try and play high against them, you just end up getting mullered.

It`s an almost no win situation setting up against them.

Ironically Dyche has his tactics spot on against the RS. Lowest of low blocks and counter attack , play for fouls but don't over commit on set pieces

They're only in this position because Man City imploded. If they had City or even Arsenal of the last two seasons in a dog fight with them they'd have imploded themselves by now.

There's nothing to see here with this Liverpool team. It's the same old story of their PL history: only ever in the shake up when a top team like Arsenal/Chelsea/ United/City aren't at it.

They'll win trophies this season because they'll get air lifted to them and others who would normally win them have had nightmare seasons.

When teams figure out how we play, Moyes will tweak his tactics to counter that, as he is a proper seasoned pragmatic manager.

I’ll take one strategic signing in Alcaraz as opposed to 5 signings that turn out to be duds we’re stuck with. Take the one signing, purge who we need to without nostalgia and remorse at the end of the season, and rebuild strategically.
