What a first game to take her, my son's first game was Arsenals invincible's at Goodison, when a certain Wayne Rooney scored the winner ! The poor bugger was hooked after that ! We spent the ten minutes after the match singing in the crowd, no one wanted to leave.
It was a fantastic atmosphere that afternoon. Like being back in the heady days of ‘87 with everyone dancing and singing that much. Last match I went to with me arl fella, which is a good memory too.

The Yak, what a man, what a player, what a smile. Loved him. If only we could get somebody like him again in the near future. Also the way certain clubs are Stokepiling players, there will certainly be very good players available that won't break the bank.
Tom Cannon it is then...11 or 12 goals so far this season

Took my Son and Nephew he was about 15 years old we all sat near the front of the Park end behind the goal. Only trouble is our Nephew supported Arsenal and I forewarned him before the game, if Arsenal score, don't cheer!
Of Course as expected Arsenal scored the first goal, he jumped up immediately hands aloft :) suddenly I felt really alone, dragged him down and told him to shut up !. Anyway it finished up historically well, him and his Dad took some stick that night I can tell you. Whst a game and what a player.

That posters name is “dum”, they have an avatar of the “Loch Ness Monster”, Thomas.

If that’s not Azul. I’ll be supremely surprised.
The club keep eight and a half thousand
fans waiting 10 minutes on-line for the press team to turn up for the press conference, only for the stream to cut out half way through, we literally are the "Dum" waiters,
no signings in this window yet and people
wonder why the club is regarded as a joke ?

i didn't want Moyes but have to say was encouraged by the press conference and i'm looking forward to the match more than i have been in a long time, if it wasn't for my son i may well have stopped going its been that bad for me

Could really do with a bit of the new manager bounce tonight (or regression to the mean for you statisticians out there...) and it feels like the the game is set up for it... we're not playing a top of the league side who could come and steam roll us or a bottom side who could spring a surprise, we're playing a decent Villa side who do have their weaknesses to exploit under the lights.

A scrappy 1-0 will do for me like.

Martinez also shat the bed in big games. We should have beaten Liverpool at home that season and concede a last minute set price goal (wouldn't happen under Moyes). We got destroyed by them away from home and they then went on a title charge. We got hammered in the Ukraine in the Europa. We should have beaten Utd in the semi.
Moyes was a far better manager. But on the one-off occasion, say, in a cup final, I'd take Roberto over him any day. It might well end in flames, but he'd at least have a go. Moyesy would try to play chess and would be less likely to take a hiding. But he'd be, all things considered, less likely to win, too.

But that was then...

He has won a trophy since, so fingers crossed...

And yet we still won eff all and have gone backwards ever since.
Oh, I agree. But it was much more exciting to watch for that single season.

We've won nothing for 30 years. I'd take an ugly trophy over beautiful football any day. But if we're going to win nothing, we might as well fail beautifully.
