His West Ham tenure was a bit of a mixed bag, some good results but also on the end of a few drubbings as well. There was never really a bad run of defeats and he seemed to be able to turn it around before it became an issue. The season they won the Europa CL affected their league performance but I don't know if that was because of depth and injuries.

He was terrific under Dyche until his thigh injury in December 2023. He hasn't been able to play the same role since returning in January. He scored 6 goals in 17 matches and was offsides 6 times. After he returned, he scored only 1 goal in 15 matches, and was offsides a whopping 15 times. It took Dyche too long to figure it out, but it's accurate that he improved under Dyche — until the injury.

He had a purple patch of some goals. To me he's a detriment to a side because the rest of his game is so poor. He struggles to weight a pass and it breaks down so many moves.
Im just not a fan and theres a reason why his career was lower french league and relegated with Watford. Hes just not that good. Bit like the calvert lewin argument. Tiny pockets of a purple patch doesnt warrant staying in a side. Dyche was far to loyal.

I have been as negative as anyone about Moyes return but that all goes out the window once he starts his new job.
Of course we will all be behind him what is to be gained by moaning once he settles in the job?
At the end of the day we all want the same thing.
The reason why it's a terrible appointment is that there'll be no room for mistakes. If we lose the opening match the gates of criticism will be opened. If we lose Two out of the next three, discontent will be ramped up etc etc.

The support are split on the incoming manager in a way they wouldn't be for a clean break manager. That endangers our survival chances.

I would have thought the Texans would have been briefed on the dynamics of this appointment. Maybe they were and they just decided to act like morons in any case. They know best...

It will become ultra toxic after 2-3 straight losses…
Probably the most vocal pro Moyes posters now will be the first ones demanding his head if that happens
Absolutely no doubt that the next 2 home games are very tricky fixtures.

Villa are superbly coached and flying.

Spurs are , well Spurs. On their day they beat anyone and then again they can lose to anyone ( well perhaps not Southampton - that's just us).

Moyes does need to hit the ground running but I think he's going to need some luck with those games

Then we should ALL get behind the Everton manager.

I know I will Dave.

Can YOU say the same?

Everton only got Stones becuase of Moyes record on bringing on defenders, lad was set for Wigan until Moyes and Kenwright approached him. Looking forward to Patterson and Mylenko now a proper manager who wants to coach players can achieve.

….it will always be about acquiring good players. I recall him asking for a list of the best young full backs in the Championship before deciding on Stones.
He might be able to improve some players here but he might never have wanted to acquire Patterson or Mykolenko.

When most fans eventually want Moyes sacked, @davek will be programmed to defend him.
