I have been as negative as anyone about Moyes return but that all goes out the window once he starts his new job.
Of course we will all be behind him what is to be gained by moaning once he settles in the job?
At the end of the day we all want the same thing.
I honestly don't know if we all want the same thing tbh mate. I think we have a number of fans (mostly online as I very much doubt they ever leave the house) who would probably take us being terrible and relegated if it meant they could flex about "being right" and claim Internet credit.

I'm really conflicted on this appointment. I always want my club to be forward thinking, and this is an opportunity lost, although, on the other hand, I'm quite confident Moyes will see us safe. The thing I think a lot of the 'Moyes, he gets us and knows the club' supporters may be under playing, is the way he left the club first time around. Shots were fired from all sides, and for me, it was a line in the sand. This isn't the fresh young 38 year old Moyes coming in again. It's a 61 year old with plenty of baggage. I really hope for the sake of the club, it works well, but the fanbase has been through the mill so many times in recent years, I fear patience in many quarters will be paper thin if things don't start well. The first 'Saha off and Distin on' moment will show us how much good will he has.

I remember when Moyes first came, he used to be out there on the pitch for the warm ups and getting involved in the drills. It was proper hands on stuff, I loved it. It stopped towards the end and I doubt he did it at West Ham, but it’d be great if he did it again with this lot just to show them that he means business and he’s always trying to improve them.

On a wider note, he gave me the best years of watching Everton since the 87 team, it was grim before and after him (barring one season under Bobby, cup win under Joe and half a season under Carlo). I’m not over the moon ecstatic but we are where we are, and I reckon he’ll do a very good job for us again. I totally understand why some don’t want him, but it’s not his fault we’re in this position and having to bring him back.

It probably would have been better to hire him instead of Carlo in hindsight as it wouldn’t have led to being desperate for Benitez>Lampard>Dyche. We could have been 3 years down the road and in a place where TFG could make that world class appointment.

In short, Moyes has got my backing until we’re 3-0 down at HT against Villa. Then I’ll be painting on bedsheets with @windymiller and @Bedfordblue et al 🤣🤣

Can tell that when them over the park come into topic, many of the staff work across both sites when at home, fair few staff at Everton are red too. Would be absolutely devastating for Everton to be relegated for jobs, shocking really anyone would want it let alone one of our own.

Doucoure has been terrible under dyche.
1 game at brighton. 1 goal against bournemouth.
Other than that he's been terrible. Probably a factor why dyche is no longer in a job. His insistent selection of a player who struggles to do even the basics.
He was terrific under Dyche until his thigh injury in December 2023. He hasn't been able to play the same role since returning in January. He scored 6 goals in 17 matches and was offsides 6 times. After he returned, he scored only 1 goal in 15 matches, and was offsides a whopping 15 times. It took Dyche too long to figure it out, but it's accurate that he improved under Dyche — until the injury.

I'm far from a Moyes fan, I don't want him back, but one thing he will guarantee is wins at home against the majority of the other 13 or 14 teams in the league.

Our home form has been terrible and no one fears coming to Goodison since Dyche was here, hopefully we can get the majority of the wins at home with the fans behind the team.

And age, diminishing returns on players that lean heavy on physical side of football once they hit the 30s

I`ve not posted for a while on this... because I wasn`t really sure how I felt about it and what that meant for Everton Football Club.

OK it wasn`t the glamour or long term appointment we might have expected but it is a safe and more than able pair of hands.

Moyes will win more games than Dyche, that is more or less a given and I think we will get a response from the players to him, no doubt Bainesy and Coleman will have been telling the players about the Moyes Days previously and the players will have seen West Ham in Europe and at the top end of the Premier League, something Dyche could never point to because he was always at the bottom.

We need to get away from this "Get to the stadium as a PL club" mentality, I`ve no doubt Moyes will keep us up but the 1st season in the stadium I think we will be battling in the top 10, I believe he could have that impact PROVIDING THE RECRUIMENT IS RIGHT in this window and the summer. Just so everyone is clear what my opinion is, good recruitment under Moyes gets us top 10 and maybe higher, the same recruitment with Dyche gets us bottom 6 or 7.

Those debating "The way he left" need to give it a rest... Loads were having Barkley when he was available, we`ve had Benitez and people moaned but did nothing about it, Rooney came back and he famously kissed the Utd badge, Sammy Lee was in our dugout. I could go on....

Moyes has my backing till the time he demonstrates on the pitch that he can`t get results, let`s look further ahead though and look to be in Europe in the second season of the stadium rather than just getting there as a PL club. I think Moyes can achieve that...
