Now that dyche has gone, I can't help feeling that thelwell is in the crosshairs and he has 2 weeks to prove he has any future at the club.

Big challenge for Moyes. The game has moved on and he was being found out at West Ham. The low block is a thing of the past, just doesn't work as effectively as it used to (and it used to drive me mad then for how often it would fail).

Tbf to him he has tried to evolve unlike Dyche, he has changed his coaches regularly

I like your optimism but the new manager will have Moyes players to play the Moyes way. We need proper structure, hence a decent DOF who Moyes won't work with.

The Moyes way is a big step up from where we have been for the last few seasons. When Moyes left last time he was replaced by Martinez and the football was sublime that first season by him adding that bit of flair onto the Moyes way. The only issue was Martinez had no concept of defence so gradually it went downhill. We just have to make sure the next manager after Moyes has the flair but understands that defending is also part of the
game

No, it has moved on whilst he was still managing, that was one of the issues for him in the end at West Ham. They actually conceded a lot of goals despite being a defensive team.

Football changes, sometimes it goes in cycles, but you have to keep up.

He had a European trophy, a quarter final and a semi final at West Ham

He's not a top manager but he didn't do badly at West Ham. There are very few mid level clubs who had regular European football, and didn't have it effect their league form.

That Martinez first season was the best I have seen us play since the 80's. Losing John Stones to city didnt help the defense situation. But i get ur point.

Success to me (and many others on here) is winning stuff, we should not regard ourselves as ‘plucky little Everton’, otherwise just get rid of our motto and replace it with ‘we’ve had good times’!

Agree, but sadly we are so far away from winning anything.

at least we wake up today and the chancer that is Dyche is no longer manager of Everton. Moyes, hopefully will have us scoring more goals and accumulating a few more points, but its not a given...

As i understand we are still sailing close to the PSR limits...?

Seems that we've got a limited budget.

But that still means there's a budget, which should give us some confidence.
