Had a nightmare about that Wigan FA Cup quarter final last night. Ffs Moist.

I remember the absolute fume at that game.

And I'm sure Osman snapped one of their players and the rage aimed at the injured feller being carried past the gwaldys was almost comical

It seems he's genuinely the "stable rebuild" option, judging by his own statement.

Underwhelmed is an understatement,
but IMWT is back on the menu I suppose. Hope he redoes his first hiring at least for the foreseeable, as we will desperately need it, and we move up to midtable again at least ffs
It's underwhelming, however I think we now need to get behind him and hope for a period of relative stability and, all being well, not in a relegation fight each year.

From there, we can build.

Regardless of what he did 12 years ago, he’s our manager now, so we need to give him the best chance to succeed.

IIRC he was not given an easy ride by us at the time, should he be remembering that?

Let’s just move on and let him get on with the job, anything else is hysterical nonsense.

Yeah he has my full support, as does any Everton manager not named Rafael Benitez, just an uninspiring signing. I do know we need someone to bring stability and actually rebuild and he has shown that he's somewhat capable of doing that, but is he capable of doing it with a DoF, and a different structure, and everything? Time will tell, but I sure hope so!

Get us to midtable wee davey then we can find a real progressive manager to propel us into the champions league when we can spend some money! Maybe a sexy Spaniard with brown shoes or something.

So because of his stint at the deadest Sunderland team he's not safe? Why would you single that out and not the countless high finishes with us and West Ham?
Pretty much everyone has a few things that didn’t work out on their CV, the worry would be that with Sunderland he couldn’t invest heavily to improve the level, whereas at West Ham he could. Until the end of this season, we seem to be in the Sunderland boat rather than the West Ham one. Of course Sunderland was crumbling off the pitch at the time whilst we have finally some stability so hopefully that will help. Can he improve the level by coaching? I’d say he’s fairly limited as a coach in comparison to the new generation - like Dyche he probably thinks the 90s was the peak of civilisation! - but that could be remedied if he appointed really good people alongside him. Is he still ambitious enough to find the best coaches out there like he did when he first came or will he just stick with the comfort blanket of his mates now like Dyche?
