2024/25 David Moyes

Is Branthwaite nursing a minor injury? He hasn't been playing

If he's ready to go for the beginning of the season I'm not worried at all. As we've seen before, we are awful without him, more than passable with him in the side.

It's hard to really get too excited about anything without him on the pitch. He completely changes us from relegation fodder into a legitimate side

He’s not even travelled pal.

Any chance he goes with a front two of Beto and Barry? It might be the best option considering how poor the team is right now.
For me it's more the 3 behind them that needs strengthening.

McNeil and Alcaraz are decent Premier League level and obviously Ndiaye is great - but for me we need some real talented lads in those positions who'll bag and assist loads throughout the season. Seems it's been really difficult for us to land those kind of players often enough though..

And to think, he's already been backed more this summer than the last few managers
And the other side of that penny?

None of the last few managers have been lumbered with a squad turnover of the magnitude Moyes faces now.

Once the big moves at the top start flowing, and other sides are forced to move to cover gaps, we'll see a flurry of transfers in a very short few days.

superb post

Well, no. Not really.

Because he could have kept any of the players he wanted. Holgate? Young? Begovic? Calvert-Lewin? Doucoure? Harrison? Lindstrom? Broja? All Everton players if Moyes wanted to keep them.

It's not like when previous managers had Richarlison, Iwobi and Gordon etc sold on them.

Turnover of squad is an good opportunity, not a problem unless we create it ourselves.

Yup, a massive opportunity for competent management. Sadly, ours - and I am talking about the organisational hierarchy here - have been shown up for what they are. The emperor has no clothes.

If we'd given extensions to the likes of Holgate, Young, Broja etc the fans would explode. Is any one of the ones you mention a real loss?

Well, no. Which is the point. To recap;

Just saw his interview, he looks soooooo pissed off.

My point was if Moyes is thoroughly pissed off now even having spent some money, imagine if he'd had to tolerate the years before when we had to make a profit every window and make do with the likes of Young and co.

@Rita_Poon feels the flip side is poor Moyes has to deal with a massive squad turnover, but in reality, that's a good opportunity and he'd have been able to keep anyone he wanted.
