Bit of an exaggeration and a bed sheet reaction. To Everton the match is unimportant, we have experimented yet again to give Moyes the answers to players futures. Moyes is setting up his decisions for the next season. I expect him to go into the summer with a clear view on how to take us forward and not to be in the position that we have been in the last several seasons. Great job that Moyes has done will only be judged as of next season. 4 or 5 players missing replaced by his choices will be either his death knell or the return of Moysiah. 8th to 12th next season in our circumstances will be a massive jump and anything above will be wonderful. Another relegation scrap with an input of 5 players or more will be deemed as failure
Labouring this again, it's a huge job getting three or four players into the starting eleven, and we've got an entire half squad up in the air. Needs to move quickly, get em in, and get them acquainted with what's left, one another, and how we set up for the new season. It's not a big ask, it's a colossal ask, possibly the biggest ever single summer task ever to befall any Everton manager. 15 players could walk. They'd have to be replaced somehow, even 5 loans out and 5 new loans means signing 10 just to be as short as we are now. 10 players at £20m a piece is £200m + wages and sign on fee's. I doubt we have that. And the selling to buy idea means losing part of our solid defence and still having to replace thereafter.
Big job?
Huge job?
Colossal job?
Once in a life time task.
