2024/25 David Moyes

Same mentality that lumbered us with Lampard and Dyche for longer than both should have done.

At some point the club is going to have to try and break the negative manager cycle and actually plan for the future.

If they go into next season with Moyes then fair enough, I don’t think it is as clear cut as Lampard and Dyche were in terms of barely keeping us up when they both should have had us well clear, but equally Moyes hasn’t exceeded expectations despite what some would think and if the club were to say thanks but no thanks in the summer then that would also be fair enough.
Alright let’s do it again so. Dyche took us over with the lowest pts total in our history at that stage of the season. Kept us well up the next season. Lampard didn’t do that. Not sure why both are lumped in together

I think he has inherited a side far better than they played under Dyche and has gotten us safe so that is as far as I can go in praising him .
He still plays players that don't perform well enough and refuses almost point blank to give lads a try ,some on here have forgotten how he was almost hounded out for the style of play he served up last time .
As someone who was lucky enough to see two separate sides win the league I know the difference but for those who weren't so lucky can I just say ,a man who considers getting up and around the chance of playing in Europe ,gets us to fourth but with a negative goal difference and then thinks he is doing his job is not the right one for us .
Would any of the teams up where we want to be settle for that ? My fear is that he has been told he will have time and they do not realise that he is a short step up from what we had earlier in the season .If it is true the calibre of player he is after then my point will be proven .
Finishing 4th absolutely was and still would be an outstanding achievement. Failure to understand that the game has changed massively doesn’t do anyone any favours.

April was always going to be a nightmare, and we've come through it relatively unscathed. Imagine if Dyche had still been in charge for this run of fixtures....

Moyes deserves a couple of transfer windows with some decent backing and he can get us back in the top half of the table competing for European football, which would be a nice change compared to the last several years.
For a bit of balance Dyche got a point at City, and Arsenal and one at home to Chelsea. Moyse is a step up from Dyche, but not a very high step.

Easy that one. Taking us forward imo, is playing better, more progressive football. Taking a chance, by actually picking the best players to start. Accept, very quickly, when times up for even your favoured players. When things are clearly not working, do something different. Give other players a chance…:..
Jep it is, but taking forward for me also means that this progressive football should be visible on the table. I am sure Moyes wasn‘t their number 1 candidate, if they could get Dyche over the line till summer and didn‘t need someone that can deliver points relatively quickly due to the table position unlike West Ham for example, when they appointed Potter, who is rather a slow starter.

Given Moyes delivered the results overall and they gave him a contract till 2027, it would be a waste of money to already get rid in summer. It‘s predictable in advance what you get with him.

The style of play
Penny will drop that the players we have prevent us playing dynamic attacking football.
Who exactly should we pick as our starting 11 in this new style of football.
“Here you go pal. You’re the boss of this golf course now, but we haven’t got anything to mow the greens with, by the way, members will be expecting it to be like Augusta in late April.”

🤡🤡🤡
Fans are representative of the population. Lack of critical thinking. People still blaming the mangers for moshiris running the club in the ground.
Until investment starts nothing changes
