2024/25 David Moyes

I honestly would lost any ounce of respect I had if he DIDNT go to United.

Yeah, I mean, let's get real. You want players and managers with ambition, not people content with accepting the current circumstances that under Kenwright showed no hope of changing.

I'm not a massive fan of Moyes, but he deserves next season.

Problem is that TFG quite like sacking managers and Moyes is not their guy. Whoever they wanted to replace Dyche in the summer might still replace Moyes in the summer.
Didn’t he say they asked him specifically? They sought him out. That’s not a “not their guy” situation imo.

I have no problem with him going at that time either. I think the timing probably made sense for everyone at that time too.

There are also people who were annoyed Ancelotti left for Real Madrid

I dont get it to be honest. It's not like they left for comparable teams.

Like I wouldn't be entirely shocked if eventually R Madrid want to sign Branthwaite. Should we expect the lad to want to stay if that happens?

We aint won in the league at 'the bridge' in 31 years, obviously entirely Moyes fault.

I checked out the signings of the chelsea first eleven today, £520million spent on 9 players topped up by two youth products.

our eleven today.

Pickford 30m
Patterson 11m
J O'B 18m
Branthwaite 750k + add ons
Myko 17m
Ndiaye 15m
Garner 9m
Doucoure 22m
Gana 2m
Harrison loan
Beto 25m

149m & 750k

chelsea's starting eleven today cost nearly four times what ours did.

We got stitched up by benitez on the myko and patterson fees. We were had over a barrel for Beto.
31 years. Not entirely his fault but he is responsible for over a third of that total on his own.

But he only has donkeys to pick from, let’s be realistic. Shall he knit a Messi?

He’s already transformed a dire squad bar a literal handful of players into something approaching half decent.

If you think David Moyes is a problem I would massively disagree with you.

I suppose these safe games now are a good opportunity for Moyes to really see who is and isn’t up to it.

Would you say Alcaraz is a "donkey" ?

Because based on the evidence of the Palace game (motm 1assist & 1 goal) and today (so close to a couple of assists)...when hes allowed central;

I would say hes not a donkey.

The clear donkey imo is Doucoure who has been playing ahead of him

3 posters called me a "red" for saying i didnt celebrate the Doucoure goal the other week - this is why.

Moyes will keep playing him and likely extend his contract.

There is nothing but 13th (lol) to play for.

Posters saying "Zat is a red" and "I trust Moyes" regarding Doucoure / Alcaraz are 1000% behind Moyes.

Surely @Groucho like many posters today can see Alcaraz is someone Moyes has not been using for alternative reasons to footballing ability?

They did, though we obviously would have had more options if the search was made in the summer.

I'm not sure he sees out his contract, but I don't see any way he's not the manager to start next season.

Large portions of this fanbase will never and have never forgiven Moyes for leaving.

Its the baggage he carriers.

Personally I dont care either way, I think hes done a cracking job with this group of players and would like to see what he can do after a Summer window, but if them Texans wanna sack him and bring somebody else in, thats fine also.
I don't care at all about him leaving. I was fed up and wanted a change - although he is a decent manager, his shortcomings were really grating on me by then.

Since he has come back, he has done well overall, and he has improved as a manager, but I still see a lot of the same shortcomings and don't want to see those continue. I think it would be a crazy move to get rid of him in the summer but: we need to be extremely cautious about giving him total control of transfers, and should be critical when he does really poor things, which he has done lately.

Spot on tbh mate.

Wasn’t it confirmed that the extension clause wasn’t going to be triggered?

I highly doubt he will accept a new offer on lower terms, personally. So I think not triggering the extension is as good as not offering anything.

Page 777. Glad we got Moyes and not those jokers.

Also Doucoure is plop and the only reason I can think he's still getting games is Moyes plans to buy Alcatraz and is trying to save money on the loan contract/keep fee down

Harrison was on for 50 minutes too long, I just don't see what Moyes sees. Maybe the boy wears tight shorts in training, i dunno. But he truly is cack

He’s working with duds on the whole but you can’t keep picking Docoure and Harrison ahead of Alcaraz and McNeil who are better options. You’ll end up getting the stick you deserve doing that. Up front what can we do really. Try Chermiti and see how he goes seems the logical option.
