What games have you been watching if you think the style and approach isnt different.

I didn't say that.

I said the football under Dyche never changed this season, to any before it. Which give the results that got us off the floor, which is what your saying Moyes has also done and deserves credit for, to dismiss things like 1 win in 9.

I agreed with that when we hired him but seeing the job he’s done, I think he deserves next season at least now. If we improve the squad in the summer like we should do, I’ll judge him next season.

Usually I'd agree.

But in my opinion - this summer is the biggest in Premier League era for us, one real opportunity to put life through us. New owners, new stadium and ability to spend for the first time in years.

The manager has to be the best person for the job, not someone who we think deserves a go for improving us a bit on Sean Dyche. Good luck TFG.

What managers would realistically come here knowing that a manager on a 2.5 year contract who has done a brilliant job has been kicked out 6 months into it? We’d also be wasting millions (maybe tens of millions) of pounds on an unnecessary change and we’d have no transfer budget left. This summer is too important to be messing around, Moyes will 99% be staying and as I said, if we improve the squad, I’ll judge Moyes next season.

People had the same view when we hired Allardyce - but Silva was the man they wanted, and they didn't keep Allardyce just because he got some better results.

We had someone lined up to replace Dyche, but he was only available in the summer.

Short term decisions and "he deserves another season" have cost us for too long.

I don't need any other games to judge Moyes. As I said before, I've had 20+ years.

Theres one massive difference. That you always seem to sweep under the carpet.
There isnt many defeats in there for Moyes and Dyche. The difference. The majority of the games under Dyche we set up not to lose only. The same cant be said in the same run under Moyes. The team were far more competetive. Hence why we've scored over double the goals.

….the new owners will want some stability so i’m sure Moyes will be here next season. He’ll be tasked with building some foundations for his replacement, I don’t think Moyes will be looking for a contract beyond next season although it wouldn’t surprise me if he ‘moved upstairs’.

The Friedkins would be clueless to give Moyes a 2.5 year contract and have it in mind to sack him after 6 months. I strongly disagreed with the length of the contract at the time if you look back at my posts but now that he’s been given that contract and he’s done a great job, there’s no chance he’s going to leave in the summer.

As I said earlier, I don’t think any manager in world football would have done a better job with the squad/injuries we’ve got and I don’t see a host of candidates that would be queuing up to join us and if they were, it would be solely for the money.

The option would be for the same or a pre agreed wage figure.

We will probably make an offer at reduced terms.
Possibly, it if there were talks about a reduced salary extension I would have thought it had been reported in the press but I’ve not seen anything and he tweeted the other day he was enjoying playing his last few games at Goodison

I've long hoped we'd get to this summer and we'd use new owners, new stadium as a real opportunity to put a bolt through the club and kick on. Is that Moyes?
No
But atm he has earned the right to stay , IF the team progresses.

Go on a really poor run til the end of the season I fully expect Friedkin would have no hesitation sacking him.
If this 1 win in nine turns into 1 win in 16 he would rightly be shown the door.

I have a lot in common with this view. It's going to be Moyes spending the budget in the summer though.

He is set to be given extraordinary leeway if not with that budget but the players that come in. I can understand that to a a degree with new people and new structures.

It is what it is now. I don't think he'll be here beyond his contact and he might be here potentially shorter than that. It seems to be all on him to get this summer right.

I'd rather we get better players that he isn't capable of getting the most of, than wondering where the money went in a years time.

They can always sack him, moving dud signings on is another matter.

I struggle to understand people who's say he's not ideal, or the right man but he's earned the right?

We can't act like a charity.

Like Allardyce when here - for me, he could win, or lose every game from now until the end of the season and my opinion wouldn't change.

If I owned the club, id have sacked Dyche after every season if we had the ability to do so. We didn't given finances, ownership and a chronic lack of shortlist who'd be prepared to work with that.

We're not that club anymore.

Short term mentality/decision making though isn't it mate?

It depends what you want - consolidation/comfort. Then yeah, I understand Moyes. He's better than Dyche, is that enough?

We do not know yet. Let us see next season. I am all for consolidation/comfort next season as long as it is better than this season. Put us on a steady footing for the 1st time in years

Oh I want the very best mate make no mistake , but if we have a strong finish to the season I just don't see Friedkin sacking him.

I wouldn't shed a tear mind .
If a top class manager becomes available & achievable we should do it in any circumstances.

Wonder if we could tempt Silva back from Fulham? Was a mistake to fire him in the first place and he's done a great job there. It's a bit dangerous imo giving Moyes what ought to be the biggest transfer war chest in years when he's only here, as it stands, for two years. What happens if it goes tits up? All the players brought in on massive deals are inherited by yet another new manager, probably at least half of them no interesting him at all.
