I sat through the entire discussion just floored by how the two people who seemed like they understood the game the most (by far) were Tim Sherwood and Paul Merson. Never thought that could be possible. A perfect display of why those four people don't properly work in football, and instead just fill programming time cluelessly chatting.

Quite possibly, knowing some would be looking to put the blame on him. He acknowledged that in hindsight he could've made a change sooner around the 65 minute.
I'm convinced that it was the officials that cost us 3 points and I'm sure privately he will be thinking the same thing, especially when he studies the full var decision.
I felt better about the overall game after listening to his presser. He's maintaining the positives and managing expectations brilliantly and I just can't fault him atm.

Exactly. My jaw dropped when the two of them finished their bits, shockingly having said mostly reasonable enough things, then the other two would blather on with the level of utter ignorance that would usually result in people shaking their heads then faces dropping to palms, followed by phrases like "I don't even know where to start with that," if it were said at the pub. Also, how on Earth does Clinton Morrison have a high level punditry career? Nothing player, adds no insight whatsoever, and can't even speak near clearly.

We've had enough pragmatism. We need to start to believe and this summer with spend, new owners and Bramley Moore - we need the manager to be giving us belief. No knives to gunfights.

I think he realizes that this here is going to be the pinnacle.

The cup win with West Ham was nice but if he leaves us back in a state to be competing for Europe spots again after three and a half seasons of relegation battles he will have earned an enormous amount of good will back.

One thing I think we can all recognize, and the players have too, is that this matters to him. It's not "just" a job. This is THE job for David and probably his swan song and a chance to be remembered as an actual icon here.
 
They did their best to rule Beto's opener off - VAR stands for p[protecting the richest clubs - Ally Macoist stated VAR showed the ref the incorrect angle as from behind the shirt pull is more clear view of a pen = nailed on pen ... the ref gave it instantly no need for VAR ....

Well will people learn that sky sports ‘analysis’ is the equivalent of a podcast started by your mates at 5am after being on it.
